Hey folks, Harry here - and I'm about as happy as humanly possible. TRON is just about my favorite personal childhood movie. I love it for about every frame that flashes before my eyes, every sound effect and score second. And when Merrick posted that story with details from Jim Hill's piece on TR2N that Steven Lisberger was not involved in this new iteration of TRON... well, my soul grew a little, ever so slightly cold to the project.

Merrick here...
Jim Hill Media, one stop shopping for all news Disney, has posted an interesting piece about the behind-the-scenes creative/political machinations driving the development of TR2N.
Two points of interest include:
-- John Lasseter's enthusiasm for the project (although many in the studio aren't convinced a TRON sequel shuod be attempted, or would pay off);

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm a TRON geek. Hardcore. It opened at the exact right time for my brain to be responsive to it. And all you "youngsters" that poop on the film.... Fuck way the fuck off. TRON started it all - It created a desire, a very strong desire, for more dimensional video games. I mean at the time - vector games couldn't even be skinned - This film had graphics, enhanced by old-school Disney Cel animation that blew our collective minds.
