Merrick here...
One of the biggest questions swirling around TERMINATOR SALVATION (other than "Is McG up to the job?" and "Why McG?") has been: how are they going to deal with T-800 character Arnold portrayed in the first three films? Would he/it appear at all? If so, would he/it be a CGI Arnold, an actual cameo by Arnold himself, or...what?

Helena Bonham Carter looks to be joining Bale, Common, Bryce Dallas Howard, etc. in TERMINATOR SALVATION.
Roles in the new film have been kept under wraps, but insiders described the Bonham Carter role as small but pivotal.

We've had confirmation that the material described below is, indeed, the trailer being shown to focus groups etc.
Seems to be exactly as described, although one reader said he felt "Bale looked a lot older than he did as Bruce, and quite battle scarred".
So there you have it.

We've known for a while that Christian Bale is playing John Connor in McG's now-in-production TERMINATOR film. Early indications suggested Bale would appear throughout a proposed trilogy of films...although nothing seemed set in stone.
Now comes confirmation that Bale has formally signed on to play Connor in three TERMINATOR movies.
