Fox doesn’t announce its fall slate until Thursday, but producers of “Fringe,” “Sit Down, Shut Up” and “The Inn” have apparently already learned the netlet is taking their pilots to series.
“Fringe,” from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot (“Alias,” “Lost”), is about a hot FBI girl who teams with a troubled scientist to investigate a growing wave of paranormal activity.

“Simpsons” writer-producers Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein have joined the staff of Mitch Hurwitz’ animated “Sit Down, Shut Up.” Because "Arrested Development" mastermind Hurwitz wrote the pilot, the move suggests the project will be announced as a series at Fox’s “upfront” in a little more than two weeks.
Variety’s story on the matter indicates that Oakley and Weinstein will serve as the series’ showrunners. Their other credits include “Mission Hill” and “The Mullets.”

Others lending their voices to the project include Maria Bamford, Will Forte, Regina King, Nick Kroll and Cheri Oteri.

As Mitch Hurwitz awaits a greenlight for a proposed big-screen “Arrested Development” movie, he’s now got a new small-screen job developing Fox’s animated sitcom “Sit Down, Shut Up.”
Based on a short-lived 2001 live-action Australian comedy, “Sit Down” focuses on a self-centered high school faculty. Fox will decide whether or not it wants to take the project to pilot and/or series once netlet execs observe actors performing Hurwitz’s script at a table read.
