Capone Gets to the Dopeness of THE WACKNESS with Director Jonathan Levine

Hey folks. Capone in Chicago here with my interview with director Jonathan Levine, writer-director of THE WACKNESS, which opens wider this week, as well as the long-delayed and beautifully realized horror offering ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE, which I was lucky enough to see a couple weekends ago Chicago's own Flashback Weekend horror convention.

Mr. Beaks Relives the Summer of '94 with Jonathan Levine's THE WACKNESS

Where were you in the summer of 1994? Who were you in the summer of 1994?

Quint interviews Josh Peck and Jonathan Levine about THE WACKNESS!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I really flipped for THE WACKNESS when I saw it at Sundance way back in January. As someone who was almost scared off by the premise (wiggery teen sells drugs over a summer in the early ‘90s), I’m telling you that this movie has heart, laughs, sensuality and charisma with charm to spare.

And now the trailer for the great Sundance favorite THE WACKNESS!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I just posted a story for the American Teen trailer, which is a great trailer for a great movie. This trailer below is an okay trailer for a great movie. I think the trailer is a little clunky. If it were me, I'd really sell the nostalgia factor. The movie is a love-letter to the early '90s. Also, the heart of the film is the friendship between Ben Kingsley and Josh Peck, which is just skimmed in the trailer.

Rav gets down with THE WACKNESS at Sundance!!!

Hey folks, Harry here... I'm getting ready for another wonderful day at Fangoria's WEEKEND OF HORRORS here in Austin - and we officially have the first film of Sundance that I'm wishing I was watching right now. THE WACKNESS has endorsements from Rav and Quint - and I'm curious to see if we get written coverage from the Kraken as well - but it seems this is the early hot ticket of the fest.

Quint loves THE WACKNESS!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It’s early in the fest and I’ve already seen 2 movies I love unconditionally. IN BRUGES, the Focus Features opening night film and THE WACKNESS, an indie without distribution. However, after seeing the premiere, feeling the audience buzz and laugh and react and seeing just how damn good the movie is I’m sure the filmmakers are brokering a deal right this very minute.

I wouldn’t be surprised if THE WACKNESS becomes the “big sell” of this year’s festival. It really is that good.
