A public service announcement:
“Pushing Daisies,” the best new show of autumn, is airing tonight an hour later than usual.
It’s trouble for a number of reasons:
1) The print edition of TV Guide says “Daisies” is not on at all tonight and that a new episode of “Private Practice” airs at 9 p.m.
2) Those with VCRs set to “Daisies’” regular 8 p.m. timeslot will get a couple of Christmas specials.

Just Bryan Fuller’s luck; he gets to oversee a 22-episode order, then has to hit the picket line! If you thought two weeks was a long time to wait (thanks to Joe Walsh on the CMAs last Wednesday), you’ll want to gird yourself for the long wait ahead.

Last week’s episode (teleplay credited to Rina Minmoun, the girl who rescued “Everwood” from mediocrity) about the pigeons and the windmills and the little birdcage in your soul made me laugh so many times I lost count.
For those who missed the news last week, ABC has given "Daisies" a full 22-episode order for the season, so you needn't fear that Chuck, Ned, Olive and Emerson will abandon you anytime soon.
I was not able to get up to Canada this week; happily, “L-Prime” was already there and took notes:

“Pushing Daisies,” the best new show of autumn, is also one of the first new shows to get a full-season order.
ABC on Tuesday expanded the series’ first-season from 13 to 22 episodes.
Tonight’s installment was written by Rina Mimoun, the woman who got me watching “Everwood.” “L-Prime,” a Canadian, saw it last night on CTV:

“Daisies” powered the whole night for ABC. “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Private Practice,” which followed “Daisies,” was down 12% from its premiere but able to beat “Bionic Woman” like a rented mule in 18-49, a reversal of their first match-up last week. “Dirty Sexy Money” retained 100% of its first-week audience despite the dip in its lead-in!
