Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here.
I had a little bit of an e-mail back-and-forth with Garth Jennings back when HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE was still test-screening, and he seemed like a decent sort then. And Edgar Wright swears by these two... says they are the real deal, film fans with their hearts in the right place.
As if SON OF RAMBOW wasn’t proof enough.

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
So, you know that badass SON OF RAMBOW event that just happened at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin this week? I was so insanely jealous of Austin getting this particular cool event (yes, I have "Drafthouse envy" on a pretty regular basis) that I said, "Screw those guys, I'm booking my own damn SON OF RAMBOW event in Chicago and inviting all my friends…and a few Chicago-area folks as well!"

Harry here, taking a break from Fantastic Fest to let my brain recharge – to process what I’ve seen today… to update you on a fantastic film that I’ve just seen.
The film, SON OF RAMBOW is due out for a limited release in the United States some time in 2008. It has played at Sundance, Seattle and Toronto thus far, but it’s the latest film from the director of THE HITCHHIKER’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, a Garth Jennings… and with this film, he seriously hikes it up several notches.
I really enjoyed his take on HGTTG, but that was one of those films that could never really compare to the brilliant book. At least for me, I’d read the book several times and while I very much enjoyed the film, it was an echo of the tale I’ve played in my mind, countless times.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I saw two of these three films when I was at the fest. SON OF RAMBOW was one of my favorites of the festival and I also had a really good time at DELIRIOUS as well. I can't recommend SON OF RAMBOW enough. I can't wait for it to come out so I can show my local friends.
Enjoy the reviews!
Hey Harry, et al. Bungion Boy here in New York. This past January I attended the Sundance Film Festival for the first time. I had the time of my life and saw 18 films in about four and a half days. Some great, some interesting, some shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for a release. Check out my original reviews HERE. Still with all I had seen, there were several films that had been on my list that I didn’t get a chance to see. So this week I’ve been attending the 2nd Annual Sundance At BAM Festival in Brooklyn. Essentially Robert Redford brought about 25 films from the 2007 Sundance Festival and is showing them in New York. I had the opportunity to see some of my favorites from January, (Snow Angels, Rocket Science, Padre Nuestro) and catch a few new ones that I thought I’d write a few mini reviews for. Enjoy.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a look at one of my most anticipated films at Sundance this year, SON OF RAMBOW, written and directed by Garth Jennings (of Hammer & Tongs fame, who did HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY).
I was so hoping it'd be great. The movies at Sundance have been consistently good, some really, really good, some a little bad. But the last 3 films I've seen, THE SIGNAL, CLUBHOUSE and SON OF RAMBOW were fuckin' great.
SON OF RAMBOW is many things. It's a comedy, absurd at times, it's a fantasy, it's a family drama, it's a coming of age story and it's also a love letter to watching and participating in the making of movies.
