No SOPRANOS Sequel Feature, Says David Chase!!

I am – Hercules!!

I loved the “Sopranos” finale, but if a “Sopranos” feature, set after the finale, emerges, I’m going to stop liking that finale right fast.

Apparently series mastermind David Chase gets this, and says no sequel movie will be forthcoming.

Chase tells the Newark Star-Ledger that he contemplated building a feature around " a day in 2006 that you didn't see, but then (Tony's children) would be older than they were then and you would know that Tony doesn't get killed. It's got problems."

Chase also says his crew was shocked when they learned which song he intended to end the series on.

Made In America!!
The Last SOPRANOS Ever!!
I am – Hercules!!

Does Tony get whacked?

Most guess no. It’s too obvious, and wouldn’t prove as satisfying for the fans as one might think.

Because Tony lives, other big stuff has to close out the series. I would not be shocked if the first scene this week was a flashback to a secret meeting between Phil Leotardo and Paulie Walnuts Gaultieri. Phil probably offered to let Paulie serve as the new boss of New Jersey operations - under Phil’s new leadership. Maybe Paulie betrays Tony, maybe Paulie betrays Phil. Something tells me Tony will kill Paulie no matter who Paulie decides to back at the end. This is not a tale of heroes.

By the way. If you ever want to see a 29-year-old Elizabeth Bracco (not to be confused with sister Lorraine, who plays Tony’s psychoanalyst) in a miraculously hilarious chunk of big-screen entertainment, Netflix yourself a copy of Jim Jarmusch’s "Mystery Train". Bracco plays Dee Dee, the girl sharing the room with a freaked-out Nicoletta Braschi and maybe the Ghost of Elvis. The movie co-stars Steve Buscemi, Joe Strummer, a masterful Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and the voice of Samuel L. Jackson.
