Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I know the headline for this says it’s my Final Day at SXSW, but that doesn’t mean it’s my final report.
I had a pretty crazy final day at SXSW. For the first time in about 11 years of attending this fest I crossed over to the music portion, so my final day of SXSW was a mixture of both music and movies… the combination that makes SXSW so special.

Greetings humans, Monki here with a look back at a trio of "geeky" movies I caught at SXSW this year.
As most of you know, I'm the video game guy here at AICN, and this year during SXSW I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of videogame related films that were presented. Three in particular I managed to catch were NERDCORE RISING, SECOND SKIN and BLIPFEST.

Hey everyone. Capone back from SXSW 2008 with a few two more films worth mentioning from the glorious film festival that I was absolutely be returning to next year; next time I'll be there for the duration and get no sleep whatsoever.
There are still more to come after these, so enjoy the onslaught.
A NECESSARY DEATH

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
I think my favorite part of any film festival is the strange short films and the stuff that premieres at midnight and the movies that don’t roll in with massive buzz or distribution deals in place. The odds and ends. That’s where you really find out about the taste of the people programming an event.

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
How anyone manages to cover ShoWest and SXSW at the same time is a mystery to me, but Capone once again proves that he will bend time and space if he has to in order to do a smashing job for us here at AICN.
This week sounds like he’s doing a little catch-up, which I’m about to do myself, so I’ll let him get to it:

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Plain Jane’s one of the reviewers who’s been working hard so far at SXSW, and it’s nice to see another batch of reviews in the inbox:

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Capone’s at SXSW, too?! Curse you, Capone!
Wait... after some of the near-misses you’ve had this year, I won’t even say that in jest. You’ve narrowly escaped my wrath, but just for now, Capone. Just. For. Now.

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Annette Kellerman sounds like she’s drunk on movies right now.
Then again, that floozy ALWAYS sounds drunk!
That’s right! I said it! Whatcha gonna do about it, Annette? You’re enjoying a film festival and I’m up to my shoulders in poopy diapers! And you saw THE WACKNESS! So... nyah!
It's me, Annette Kellerman, back with yet another glimpse at a few more of the films I've had the pleasure of viewing at this year's SXSW Film Festival.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Yay, a really good midnight movie has played at SXSW! I’ve actually heard some good things about a few of the midnights playing, like SHUTTLE, but DANCE OF THE DEAD is the first one I saw that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’ll pepper in some shots I took of the Q&A through-out the review.

Greetings humans, Monki here with my second helping of SXSW goodness.
I'm taking a much more laid back approach to SXSW this year...after year and year I found myself trying to go to as many movies as humanly possible, and I think that sort of degraded the experience a little bit. After a while movies started blending together and I'd completely forget about films entirely. Not exactly the SXSW experience I would like to get.

Hey folks, Harry here - This is Masado's first SXSW covering stuff for AICN - and this his very first write up. Seems this flick is worth checking out. Especially if you're a Foglerphan....
THE MARCONIS BROS
Written and directed by cousins Michael Canzoniero and Marco Ricci. Starring Dan Fogler, Brendan Sexton III, Jon Polito, Zoe Lister-Jones, Patti D'Arbanville, and Stephen Randazzo.
The Marconi Brothers had its world premiere last night at the Alamo Ritz. The house was packed, and the filmmakers and most of the principal cast were in attendance.

Hey folks, Harry here... This is our badass intern, Muldoon, with a look at THE LOST COAST. He's running a completely separate schedule than I am - But that's great - as we're seeing different things. Here's his views on THE LOST COAST...

Hey folks, Harry here... Plain Jane (who is anything but plain) is chiming in for her second year of SXSW coverage and comes out swinging with 4 films reviewed below... Dig in...
Hey AICN! Here's some quick coverage of what I've seen so far at SXSW. Like others who have already been posted, I kicked off the fest with "Super High Me."

Greetings humans, Monki here with my first round of updates from the South By Southwest Film Festival 2008! I spent my opening day swinging from the rafters of the beautiful Paramount Theater while checking out Super High Me and the Vegas flick 21.
On a side note, I probably had the quickest, easiest time through the SXSW registration line ever. I'm not sure why exactly but it seems like after a few years of doing this they don't freak out about my furry paws any more. Good job SXSW volunteers!

Hey folks, Harry here... Sometimes there's shit we can't talk about. Screenings heard at a whisper level and garbled due to a beeping city cleaning vehicle that happened to pass by. These two screenings are just such screenings. They're open to anyone - regardless of badges, passes or what not - They're Midnight screenings somewhere in the city of Austin... tonight and tomorrow night. The films are not to be mentioned in advance, but are of the Independent variety - extremely fucking cool - but extremely hush hush. Why hush hush?

Hey folks, Harry here - Today is like Christmas for attendees of SXSW - one of the top film festivals in the world, because we get to find out what we get to pick from for the wonderful days ahead. Personally - there's the obvious films to look forward to, but right now - I'm looking forward to pouring over this list to see what jewels I can find. Here ya go...

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Sounds like Psychedelic had a great trip to Austin, aside from a bit of lung rot he caught from making out with Harry while they were both shrooming.
That’ll learn ya’.
Now that the emergency blood transfusions are working, he’s finally able to put together this report:
Hey Harry and Magic Carpet Riders,
The Acid was good. Her button said, “Free Hugs”. I asked for one. It was very strong. Then she hopped up and wrapped her legs around me. As we dry humped, everyone else in the street did the same. Even cops dismounted their horses and found partners. Hips bucked in rhythm throughout Austin as streams of love wrapped around the night. She was drop dead cute. Our muscles merged. We gravitated toward the Alamo Drafthouse to continue our cinematic binge at the 2007 SWSX Film Festival.

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
See what I mean? Drunk! Annette Kellerman is drunk on SXSW right now! And she doesn’t care who knows it!
I’ve seen BIG RIG, but none of the rest of what she’s talking about here, and I can’t wait to catch up with these titles myself.
Hey guys. It's been such a fun fest this year. Not only have I seen many a great film, but I've also managed to squeeze in several fun parties and bands along the way. I not only got to see TMNT last night, I also got to see a ten piece all girl Japanese brass band. God, I love SXSW. Here's a round of short reviews from the past few days. First up:

Hey folks, Harry here... I ran into Psychedelic in the bathroom of the Alamo South last night as he was tripping balls - the dots of his eyes were swirling and he was color shifting in the bathroom mirror like you wouldn't believe. Luckily - the floor remainsed mostly solid so i could escape... but ya know... flying fucking monkies, bitches, flying fucking monkies.
Hey Harry and Fellow Killer Sheep,
SXSW Rocks!! Energy flows into the streets as the pulse of Austin boogies. The audiences here are so full of energy and people so friendly. Despite some health problems, a very nasty sore throat—but I’m feeling better, I’ve been having a FABULOUS time. I’ve been hallucinating all on my own for the aforementioned reasons. Here’s how it’s shaded the movies.

Greetings humans, Monki here with my first flicks I caught at SXSW '07.
Today was a really good day for me. I put an offer in on a house, I saw my parents for the first time in a while and I was honored to have a SXSW Film Badge fall into my lap at the very last moment. I forgot how much I love SXSW until I missed the very first day of it. It is a love that runs deep, one that cannot be dismissed...'n stuff. Anyway, I kicked off SXSW '07 with two great documentaries.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've been attending SXSW for nearly 10 years now, first as a representative of my high school newspaper (how sweet that was, to spend my spring break at one of the best film festivals int he world) and then some bridging time where I was writing for both AICN and the school paper, then only AICN.
I always look forward to SXSW. The people there genuinely love film, the films are usually top notch and I always walk away with a favorite film of the year... this past year, I fell in love with Scott Glosserman's BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISES OF LESLIE VERNON, which comes out soon.

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...
Wow, that was quick. Monki's already got another full day's worth of SXSW coverage for you, and it's a nice assortment of stuff this time:
Hey there folks, Monki here with coverage from day 2 here at the SXSW film festival in beautiful Austin, Texas.
MAXED OUT
I started my second day of the festival with a really great documentary entitled Maxed Out. In my SXSW goodie bag was a fake credit card with the film's info on it and I really thought it to be a clever marketing tool. Well, it turns out the same technique was used to draw attention to the film much earlier and caught the eye of Matt Dentler, the SXSW producer. Thank god it did, because this doc is amazing.
