God, I love the Coen Brothers!
Their films are consistently amongst my favorite film experiences. In their own way, the Coens are critics. Except, they don’t write criticism in a newspaper or upon any blog – and they don’t do anything so low brow as to actually say what they’re criticizing, but their films are what they have to say about genres, styles, literature, society, regions and the world we live in.

Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here.
Loved it.
Let’s just get that out of the way. Liked it a whoooole lot while I was watching it. Started really liking it as I drove home talking to Mr. Beaks about it. And I think I sort of love it now that it’s had a while to sink in.

Hey Folks, Harry here... highly intoxicated after a day, night and early morning of drinking to intoxicated glory at the Hub Pub in Boston to celebrate the glorious union of John Robie and the babe he found to make him happy forever. Good times. Speaking of GOOD TIMES - we have a Coen Brother screening coming up in Austin - and I wanted to let you folks know how you could get there! Here's the plan - written by soberer minds than my own. SEE YOU THERE!
AICN/Fantastic Fest Present BURN AFTER READING Advance Screening Wednesday 9/10

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Did I mention I'm a Coen Bros completist? And did I mention I'm a Coen Bros apologist? Totally. I will defend INTOLERABLE CRUELTY and THE LADYKILLERS. Yeah, I will. I know! I'm kinda pathetic.
But I love The Coens. And this review started... interestingly. I can't wait to see the flick and I love the non-spoiler parts to your review, Johnny Thanatos and I will come back to read the spoiler sections after I see the flick. Be warned of spoilers, but they should be marked. Enjoy!

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
Now normally, I'm not big on simply giving away passes to screenings in Chicago unless a studio gives our readership the entire theater, or we've got a special guest on hand for a Q&A after the screening. But every so often, someone will come to me with a handful of tickets to something that I simply can't refuse. The prospects are just too good to pass up.

Cinematical has the premiere of the poster for the Coen's BURN AFTER READING. Very retro, very Saul Bass. I like it a lot.
CLICK the strip to jump to Cinematical to see the whole thing!

Merrick here...
A redband trailer for The Coen Brothers' BURN AFTER READING is now online at iTunes.
The film reunites George Clooney with the brothers, along with Brad Pitt and John Malkovich. It's about a set of revealing papers written by a disgruntled CIA employee...which cause all kinds of problems.
You can find the trailer...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've been posting a lot about the upcoming Coen Brothers flick, BURN AFTER READING and have raved about the filmmakers. Joel and Ethan Coen are two of my favorite filmmakers and this project keeps getting cooler.
In the "dark screwball comedy" already are George Clooney (who works very well with the Bros), Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand (a surprise choice... heh). Announced this very morning as joining that cast John Malkovich... not just joining, but starring in the damn thing.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Fresh on the heels of the announcement that the Coen's newest NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN was playing Cannes (I'd kill to be there just to see that movie), comes the news that another A-lister joins George Clooney in the next Coen Bros flick, BURN AFTER READING... and it's a familiar face for Mr. Clooney.
Looks like Brad Pitt will co-star with Clooney and Coen staple Frances McDormand. The only thing that is known about the project is that it involves a CIA agent who is writing a book and he loses the disc that contains his work.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the most exciting news of the day. I first heard about BURN AFTER READING when I had a brief interview with George Clooney at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in February of this year (CLICK IT HERE TO READ THAT!!!). He didn't elaborate, just said he'd do it in the Spring and that it was really funny.
Then there was no word on the project for a good long goddamn while. Now we hear it's officially official. BURN AFTER READING is about a CIA agent (and killer, apparently) who loses the disc to a book he's writing. Not much more info now than there was in February, but the starting date has been pushed back to August/Mid-September while Clooney finishes shooting and posting his next directorial effort, LEATHERHEADS.
