Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Since this showed up at my house, I’ve screened it three times. I hate that they are not putting out GRINDHOUSE together, but I really like the international cut of DEATH PROOF, and I know that sooner or later, I’ll be able to own the same thing I saw in theaters this spring. It’s just not right now, and I guess that’s just the way it fucking goes.
Vern’s got a typically strong write-up of the disc for you today, and it was nearly as much fun to read this as it was to watch the disc:
For me GRINDHOUSE was one of the great theatrical experiences of 2007. A rare modern instance of filmatists trying to put on a real show, and giving you more than your money's worth. Two movies for the price of one, plus fake trailers - an affordable night or afternoon out. Yeah, I read about how it failed to make money for the Weinsteins, but guess what? That's what happens when you spend decades buying other people's movies so you can cut them, dub them, retitle them, sit them on a shelf for years, and then only allow them to be rented at Blockbuster. When you spend that long doing that many cruel and unusual things eventually your bi-yearly good deed will fail for you too. Because you are an asshole.

Hey folks, Harry here - Tim League just sent me over the heads up on this - there's also a chance that the day before or the day after we'll have another badass preview event - I'm still working on the details - keep your fingers crossed. Here's where you reserve your tickets! Click!
We have another special opportunity exclusively for Fantastic Fest attendees: a 35mm sneak-preview screening of the extended director's cut of Death Proof. This is the version of the film that premiered at Cannes in May and personally, I am more than a little bit excited to get an early crack at checking out the extra 23 minutes of footage.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little trailer for the longer extended cut of DEATH PROOF that will be released overseas in a feature-length version and completely separate from the original concept of GRINDHOUSE.
We've been getting a lot of requests to take the Weinsteins to task for how they're releasing the DVDs here stateside and I happen to agree with a lot of those people pissed off that we're getting two DVD releases and no option for a mega release that'll have the full theatrical experience. I understand that the Weinsteins are just trying to make back as much of their investment as they can, but there is something to be said about blatantly spitting in the face of those who did support the film upon release. If they released DEATH PROOF and PLANET TERROR separately for Joe Blow Wal-Mart/Target shopper (the audience who doesn't give a shit), that's fine, but why no big, extras-laden release for us at the same time?

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Well, Europe, the various bits and pieces of GRINDHOUSE are starting to roll out for you guys now, and I’m personally itching to see the longer version of DEATH PROOF. So I’m eager to read responses to the cut that played at Cannes, reviews like this one:
Hí Harry, love the page and the time all you guys put in it. I just catched the first german press screening of Tarantino’s bad ass ride “Death Proof” in its 124 Minutes Version and want to share the little and big differences between your US – double feature version and our single experience.

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...
I can't wait for GRINDHOUSE. I can't wait for some of the trailers (that Danny Trejo one sounds extra-groovy), and for the Robert Rodriguez zombie flick with Michael Biehn and Tom Savini, and I really can't wait to see what Quentin Tarantino's got up his sleeve. This is the first concrete info we've had on what to expect, and even though this scooper wasn't in love with it, I have every faith that by the time it's gone through the process, what we get in the end is going to be outrageous and entertaining as shit. Check this out:
