Holy crap, that was fast. I stepped away from my computer for 20 minutes and I have an inbox filled with ROCK ME SEXY QUINT messages... not that that's an uncommon sight... eh...
Guess I need to go tougher on the trivia questions next time.
I'll email all the winners separately, but here's the list of the lucky 10:
Wajahat Ali
Tait Hove
Sean Novak
Greg Adkins
Jeff Howell
Brett Rader
John McCracken
John Hudgens
Lars Schear
Chuck Belcher
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. As someone who doesn't feel comfortable unless every scare inch of wall space is covered by geek stuff, be it stills, posters, concept art, comic book art, whathaveyou, I was really into reading about last year's Crazy4Cult art show, seeing the images that came out of that as they hit the net... well, I wished I was there for it.
Greetings! ScoreKeeper here assuaging baited breaths with the announcement of our three winners of the SUDDEN IMPACT autographed CD contest. [See the contest announcement HERE
WIN A PLAYSTATION 3 JUST BY PAYING TRIBUTE TO STEVEN SEAGAL
Which I imagine is something you guys do in your spare time anyway, so why not?
Hello friends, Vern here. As many of you know, I self-published a book last year called SEAGALOGY, which forever changed the lives of the couple hundred people who read it. If you have noticed any kind of improvement in the world or change in the essence of a man since then I think it is fair for me to take full credit.
Greetings! ScoreKeeper here hosting a contest I’m sure will make your day!
In honor of the new premiere release of the entire original score for SUDDEN IMPACT, I have three copies of the CD autographed by the man himself, Mr. Lalo Schifrin. I’ll be giving away these three copies however, like the respect of Harry Callahan, you’ll have to earn it.
this will be a short and simple one. Give us your best joke in the talkback below. Bring the funny and bring the brevity. One entry per person, contest begins now, and three winners will be announced Friday evening.
Should there be a duplicate joke entry, the first one is counted and the second one wasted their entry.
The GRAND PRIZE winner gets a FANTASTIC FEST gift bag from the last fest (filled with goodies, whatever they may be,) a VVWW poster, and the VVWW cap. Second and third place get the poster and the cap.
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I didn’t find the Farrelly Bros’ HEARTBREAK KID their best work, but I do think it’s a cut above their most recent stuff (I can’t tell you how much I disliked STUCK ON YOU).
The flick just hit DVD a week or two back and we’ve been offered a one-sheet signed by the Farrelly Bros. It’ll look like the one below, except with a pair of scribbles somewhere on it.
First place, receiving the 2 Disc Unrated Special Edition DVD of Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN + a $50.00 gift certificate to amazon.com is spikepet for suggesting Zombie should "reimagine" 1982's VICE SQUAD. VICE SQUAD is a perfect fit for Zombie. The notion comes from way out of left field, the concept would be a giddy, masturbatory playground for Rob, and it's a well-considered idea all the way around. Congratulations!
Hey folks, Harry here... Man - this REM - Aint It Cool Song contest has been very fun - and today - I got notified to send in the winners to WARNER BROS RECORDS so they could have the band listen to what you've been up to. How cool is that?
Hey folks, Harry here -- Here's an interesting prize to give out. Got contacted by Warner Bros asking if I would do a contest for the R.E.M. LIVE CD-DVD set that recently came out... and in addition they gave me 12" by 12" album sized ads autographed by Michael Stipe, Mike Mills and Peter Buck. Here's the prizes:
Hey folks, Harry here... I know a lot of you are waiting on the BNAT 9 application results - but first - we have the 30 DAYS OF NIGHT contest results. We had a ton of submissions of all sorts - the challenge was to turn me into a vampire - using any form of art they could... from photoshop to charcoal. Here are the resulting winners in no particular order...
Hey folks, Harry here... Long before 30 DAYS OF NIGHT made it's way onto the pop culture scene - I had come up with a very similar, albeit comedic, story along the same lines. My story was about a fat vampire that founded a town up in the Artic region where drugs, gambling, prostitution - you name it, it was basically a Frozen Vegas where the night never ends - and he was a big ol fat vampire that was over-eating on those that crapped out.
Hey guys... We have a winner already. It actually was neck and neck, with multiple parties needing to revise their entries. The winner just barely beat out another competitor by a sending in the revised entry a few minutes before I got the second batch.
I'll post a story in the next day or two that announces the lucky winner and shows the winning photos. Thanks for all those who entered and who were going at this contest fast and furiously!
Hey folks, Ambush Bug here. Sorry to disappoint, but there won’t be a regular AICN Comics Reviews column this week due to some of them-thar technical difficulties.
But fear not, Faithful Talkbackers, we do have a nifty contest for you all to partake in. Fox Atomic is publishing another massive original graphic novel presenting four of horror/suspense writer Thomas Ligotti’s best short stories. The comic is called THE NIGHTMARE FACTORY, named after a collection of short stories by Ligotti.
Greetings humans, Monki here with the absolute coolest give away I've ever been involved with here on Ain't It Cool all courtesy of Picturehouse and the awesome film "The King of Kong."
Today I'm proud to announce that AICN Games will be giving away a Nintendo Wii to one lucky winner. That's right... the Wii. You STILL can't find this bastard in stores anywhere. This console has surpassed the XBox 360 as the #1 worldwide seller, even with a year handicap. How freakin' amazing is that? Not only that, but the console (and box) have been signed by hero of the year, Mr. Steve Wiebe! That's right, an autographed Wii by a famous person! A really really nice famous person at that!
Bandai Visual USA has recently begun releasing Galaxy Angel Rune, the follow-up to original Galaxy Angel bishoujo (cute girl) sci-fi comedy franchise. The series follows a new cast centered around Apricot Sakuraba, sister of the original series' Milfeulle Sakuraba.
If you are interested in winning a copy of the Beck - Mongolian Chop Squad - Starter Set, which includes an amplifier shaped box to hold the entire rock anime series, volume 1, "amp stickers" and and an exclusive guitar pick, send an e-mail with your postal address to animecontest@gmail.com by 12:00am Eastern Dalylight on August 6. Please include "Beck Contest" in the subject line. Three winners with be selected at random.
This column has certainly been expressing a fondness for Madhouse's (Ninja Scroll, Paprika) Black Lagoon. Without diluting the essential qualities of anime, the series feels like it was made for the tastes of an American action movie fan, and now, Geneon has begun releasing the series in North America. With a compelling dynamic between the characters, exotic locations and foes, and most of all blistering action, it's an anime series well worth checking out.
One winner takes home the pair of busts from Sideshow Collectibles. The contest was an art-driven one. I wanted you guys to create a design for the villain of SPIDER-MAN 4 and I wanted you to tell me your ideas on who should play the character.
I ended up with around 50 entries. You’ll see the top eight here, counting down to the winner.
