AICN Exclusive: The Martian Manhunter in George Miller's JUSTICE LEAGUE is...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I got a tip-off today from someone close to the George Miller camp alerting me to a bit of news.

A small story ran in the Sydney Morning Herald yesterday that didn't seem to get much notice, but had some interesting information. The biggest news being that the name of the movie is now JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL... I'm thinking there might be a colon missing. JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL maybe?

Green Lantern, Wonder Woman & J’onn J’onzz Grounded!! George Miller’s JUSTICE LEAGUE Production Delayed By Strike!!

I am – Hercules!!

Citing script problems that couldn’t be remedied during the writers guild strike, Warner Bros. has decided to let its options lapse on the cast for George Miller’s upcoming “Justice League” movie.

The project will now have to wait until the AMPTP and/or Warner Bros. make deals with the writers, actors and directors guilds. The latter two unions see their agreements with the studios come up for renewal this summer.

JUSTICE LEAGUE Retitled?? It May Now be Called...

Merrick here...

A reader named Pat sent in this message. I've sent Pat a follow-up e-mail in an effort to find out more about Bale's appearance. There's a station called Nova in Australia. Given that Miller will be shooting his JL project there, my guess is THIS is where the news came from. We'll update appropriately as further details are gleaned.

Wonder Woman is 100% going to be...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. There have been many names associated with the role of Wonder Woman in George Miller's Justice League flick. One of those names has been chosen and a spy known as The 9th Complex sent in word that Australian Who Magazine claims they know who it is. They say it's this girl:

Writers’ Strike To Ground George Miller’s JUSTICE LEAGUE??<br>

I am – Hercules!!

An excerpt from Monday morning’s Hollywood Reporter:

At Warner Bros., "Justice League of America" finds itself without a shooting script and has options expiring on potential actors who recently were screen tested. As a result, it might have to postpone production.

According to the same piece, projects postponed by the writers’ strike include Ron Howard’s “Da Vinci Code” sequel and Michael Mann’s Tom Cruise vehicle “Edwin A. Salt.”

Justice League cast to be announced next week, here might be an early preview...

Hey folks, Harry here... Warner/DC is being incredibly tight lipped about this JUSTICE LEAGUE film, but we've been hearing from all over that next week they're going to unleash the full cast on us. Well, got this email wanting to give us a drop on some of the casting? Can't get anyone at Warners to spill - but take it as you will... I actually think this makes sense and Common could be exceptional casting as the Green Lantern... and I can't believe I think that.

Teresa Palmer, in your satin tights, fighting for your rights and the old Red, White & Blue... George Miller found our Amazon?

Hey folks, Harry here - with the latest rumor on the part of WONDER WOMAN in the JUSTICE LEAGUE film. Seems that Teresa Palmer called a friend of hers to excitedly share the news that she's landed the part of WONDER WOMAN in George Miller's upcoming film. This according to These Folks - it seems that Teresa will also be fit for a black wig rather than be dyed black from her golden mane. Now she doesn't have the most amazing filmography - in fact - her first film was 2005's WOLF CREEK...

Okay... So Superman Was A Rumor, But Wonder Woman’s Really Seriously For Real Been Cast Now?

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

Man, I wish JUSTICE LEAGUE would just announce its cast and get shooting already. All of these rumors are maddening, constantly shifting, and I’m not really excited by any of what I’m hearing.

Take this, for example:

A film director, who recently worked with actress Theresa Palmer, dropped us a line a few minutes ago to let us know that Theresa has won the role of Wonder Woman in JUSTICE LEAGUE. She would also play the part in a spin-off.

Here's some interesting talk regarding the recent JUSTICE LEAGUE casting session...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We know that a bunch of young actors recently read for roles in George Miller's upcoming epic JUSTICE LEAGUE. Those actors included Adam Brody, Joseph Cross (RUNNING WITH SCISSORS), Michael Angarano (SKY HIGH), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (GRINDHOUSE)and Teresa Palmer (WOLF CREEK).

The young ages of those being read did not go unnoticed by the geek community.

I've since spoken with a source buried deep in the production who shed some light on this casting session.

Meanwhile - how do you want to see a Justice League movie cast? Do you want recognizable actors in these roles or would you prefer actors that could be signed to long contracts to ensure a long series of JUSTICE LEAGUE movies?

Jessica Biel Says No <br>To Wonder Woman!!<br>

I am – Hercules!!

No 5'7" Jessica Biel For George Miller’s live-action “Justice League” movie!

I have to say, I'm all for the idea of taking a hot, talented, normal-size actress and just stretching her out to 6'2" by making her stand on apple boxes (and using other "Rings"-y special effects). It just won't be the "7th Heaven" girl ...

UGO has some JUSTICE LEAGUE spoilers that sound cool!

Hey folks, Harry here - one of the oldest and best Movie bloggers on the web, Patrick Sauriol seems to have a pretty damn good source on George Miller's JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. Over at his Back Row Chatter column - he has a source giving him some really fun scoop on JUSTICE LEAGUE. This is literally the number one script I'd love to read. The rumors have been all over the place, and it feels like... Well... with George Miller at the head of this production, I couldn't be any more excited. Miller has a sense of dynamics and action that's been pent up into the realm of family films for too long. The rumored STORYBOARD comic script for MAD MAX IV was whispered to have some of the most astonishingly intense visuals concieved for a film - and with SUPERMAN, BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN, MARTIAN MANHUNTER, FLASH and GREEN LANTERN - it seems according to Patrick - that a big chunk of the film hinges upon Batman's "REDEYE" - where he kept detailed files on the Leaguers, their identites and their weaknesses - should he ever have to "take them down".

Will Jessica Biel Don The Golden Lasso And Star-Spangled Panties For George Miller's JUSTICE LEAGUE?? <br>

I am – Hercules!!

Rumor has it that Brandon Routh and Christian Bale won’t be approached to play Superman or Batman in George “Mad Max” Miller’s upcoming “Justice League” movie, but word from Entertainment Weekly is Warner Bros. is already zeroing in on “Chuck & Larry” star Jessica Biel to play Princess Diana of Themyscira.

JUSTICE LEAGUE going down under with the help of a mighty big geek producer?

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The folks at Obsessedwithfilm.com have a bit of interesting news on the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE movie from George Miller.

It's no surprise that they found out it will be shooting in Australia. I think even HAPPY FEET was completely handled in Australia, Miller's home country.

The real bit of interesting news, though, is that Barrie Osborne, producer of MATRIX and THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY is onboard as producer for this flick.

<font color=red>JLU!! SNL!! SCTV!! OC!! <br>BATMAN, BEAVIS & BUSH!! <br><I>Herc’s Season-Box DVD Vault!!</I></font color>

Robert Smigel plays Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Clinton on “Late Night With Conan O’Brian.” He is the alter ego of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. And he is the mastermind behind the “Saturday TV Funhouse” shorts that have peppered “Saturday Night Live” over the past several years. Robert Smigel is a genius.

SNL: Best of Saturday TV Funhouse provides loads of new footage featuring the Ambiguously Gay Duo interacting with most of “Saturday Night Live’s” players from last season. (The pair have apparently developed over the years an unsavory fascination with departed cast member Jimmy Fallon.)

The show also features all or part of no fewer than 25 classic segments:

* 1 “Are You Hot? For Cartoons!”;

* 2 “The Ambiguously Gay Duo Vs. The Ice Creature”;

* 3 “Saddam & Osama” (featuring a promo for “Batman Vs. The Jews”);

* 4 “Bambi 2002” ;

* 5 “Sexual Harassment and You”;

* 6 “Fun With Real Audio: Tom Snyder stalks Dolly Parton”;

* 7 “The All New Adventures of Mr. T”
(“I’m back!” declares the title character. “And I need work!”);

* 8 “The Narrator That Ruined Christmas”
(The snowman from “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” visits Ground Zero. );

* 9 “Fun With Real Audio: Jesus on the Loose”;

* 10 “The Peanuts Gang Discovers Its Superpower”;

* 11 “Michael Jackson” (One of the best: A chimp, a llama and the elephant man’s skeleton serve as Jackson’s sidekicks as the king of pop is tempted by the scent of a boy set on a windowsill to cool. And there’s a pair of special eyeglasses that makes Tara Reid and Lindsay Lohan look like Webster.);

* 12 “Journey to The Disney Vault”;

* 13 “The Smurfette Show”;

* 14 “X-Presidents Vs. The Constitution”;

* 15 “Fun With Real Audio: Repurposed Speeches”;

* 16 “Christmastime For The Jews.” (Darlene Love celebrates the yearly exodus of gentiles from Manhattan.);

* 17 “Safety Tips From the Ambiguously Gay Duo.”;

* 18 “Divertor” (Genius satire about a superhero who distracts the media from an enormous deficit by making celebrities commit bizarre acts.);

* 19 “Fun With Real Audio: Survivor Roundtable”;

* 20 “Find the Black People At The Knick Game”;

* 21 “A Belated Black History Moment.” (Dennis Haysbert remembers pioneering cartoons “The Hoke and Daisy Show” and “Ladysmith Black Mambazo in Outer Space.”);

* 22 “Heteroy: A Christian Coalition Cartoon” (featuring a promo for the “Cele-Bots”!);

* 23 “Shazzang!” (A jolly but demented genie maims and mutilates his masters’ enemies);

* 24 “Anatominals!” (Lorne Michaels rethinks his deal with Satan.);

* 25 “FCC” (Naked cartoon characters get their genitals blurred).

As a bonus, there’s a live-action Smigel short titled “Wheaty The Wheatan Terrier,” starring Stephen Colbert. It’s a Lassie parody employing what appears to be a lot of home movie footage.

SUPERCOOL EXTRA #1: audio commentary by Smigel, Ace & Gary alter egos Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert, Al Franken, James Carville, the real Bryant Gumbel and the real Mr. T!!

SUPERCOOL EXTRA #2: More than an hour of bonus cartoons, including some never before seen!

It’s only $13.99!!
