Oh. Dear. God. Where to begin? No, really. Where to begin? Ghost Rider is a total mess practically from start to finish, a giant flaming turd racing down the highway at 200 MPH. But worry not. This ain’t X-Men 3. This isn’t The Punisher. This isn’t going to be one of my fevered rants about the failure to get this right. No, this is more of a defeated sigh. Because while I certainly won’t compare it to X3, I will invoke Fantastic Four. Really, when all is said and done, that’s exactly what this is. They get as much right as they get wrong – but all the while, they never manage to make anything resembling a good movie.

Remember how I said I was looking forward to this?
A long time ago, I took my best friend, RoRo, to go see Kevin Sorbo in KULL THE CONQUEROR. Upon exiting that “experience” – RoRo was quoted as saying, “It was like running up a hill to smell a bucket of shit.”
Yeah. That’s what it was like.
I like Mark Steven Johnson – I watched the film and completely saw what he was attempting. He was making a GHOST RIDER movie for the Junior High set and younger. The film played out like a Video Game where he had a series of opponents that represented Air, Water, Dirt and he was fire. Then he was onto the big baddie of the bunch after clearing these earlier stages. And just like in bad video games, there’s a character, whose sole purpose is to explain shit and take you from stage to stage.

Well, they haven’t really screened GHOST RIDER for press, so there’s no early reviews here.
Instead, I’m just going to put up a talkback for you guys to post your thoughts. If you see it at midnight tonight, let us know. I was considering a trip down to the Dome, but instead, I think I’ll see it Saturday morning, first show, with some friends of mine.
This should hover somewhere on the front page for the whole weekend, so pipe up... tell us if this is a Marvel hit or a Marvel miss.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm a little conflicted. I want to believe this review. I want GHOST RIDER to be awesome, but the reviewer said they agreed with Massawyrm on something. Anybody who has ever agreed with Massawyrm on anything needs professional help... still, there's a hope this will be good. Fingers crossed.

This was one of the films that I almost went after for BUTT-NUMB-A-THON this year, but decided to go after 300 instead. I'm still dying to see this.... Hey folks, Harry here... This is an OUTSTANDING report from Wizard World Texas on GHOST RIDER and Mark Steven Johnson. It's very detailed and very well done. I'm really hoping for the best with GHOST RIDER - I just wish it was allowed to be an R-rated scary as hell film. And I keep hoping that Peter Fonda gets full Mephisto makeup like in the comics - and I know that's a bullshit fanboy dream.... but I can't help it. Here ya go...
