Looks like the next wave of character teaser posters for JJ Abrams' STAR TREK have leaked to the nets, this one featuring a few more peeps that weren't on the one you've all seen by now with Uhura, Kirk, Spock and Eric Bana. Yay for Simon Pegg! trekmovie.com has the scoop. Check 'em out below, but click through to visit trekmovie for higher res versions!
Just because J.J. Abrams didn't drag any STAR TREK footage to Comic-Con? Doesn't mean footage from Abrams' STAR TREK wasn't seen. And just because so many AICN folks are at Comic-Con? Doesn't mean our operatives aren't elsewhere as well. Watching...waiting...
Case in point: this message from Mr. Atoz, who recently got a look at a two sequences from Abrams' new TREK movie.
Ain’t It Cool News is 12 years old. There hasn’t been much we could say, positive, about STAR TREK in that time. I liked some of DS9, but honestly preferred BABYLON 5. I never cared an ounce for STAR TREK VOYAGER or ENTERPRISE. On the film side, STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT was fun. So was STAR TREK: INSURRECTION, but STAR TREK: NEMESIS was ass…
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I love that above image, created by Gabe Koerner, who you may remember as being one of the central figures of the Star Trek fan doc TREKKIES. It's a beautiful image, something that would be impressive to see on the big screen.
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I had the chance recently to chat with Simon Pegg on the phone while he was pimping his upcoming RUN, FATBOY, RUN. We talk everything from that film to his loyalties to Nick Frost and Edgar Wright to McSpaced to the real SPACED Region 1 DVD to SCOTT PILGRIM to Scotty and STAR TREK. It’s a tiny interview, but jammed packed with Simon Pegg. Enjoy!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You know, I like JJ Abrams' desire to keep secrets. I like the idea of going to the cinema and not having the entire film spilled out for me via trailers, tv spots, making of books, etc. Plus, it makes it fun to get little bits of snuck info and images.
The production, using the working title CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS, recently filmed at CSUN's Oviatt Library and a reader went on a photo-hunting expedition for us. Apparently he went into the future looking at the date stamp on the pics.
When you host an awards show and invite a shit-ton of big names, chances are you’re going to get a chance to ask them some great questions about all sorts of interesting upcoming films. EMPIRE took full advantage of the situation this weekend, and here’s the result:
An(excuse the term) fascinating audio interview with Gene Roddenberry is posted at tcm-productions.com.
The interview was conducted in 1976, as STAR TREK was in the midst of its fabeled resurgence. A STAR TREK "movie" was in the works, although many details had not been finalized (a guest starring role for Bob Newhart?)
Hey folks, Harry here... Behold the nice, atmospheric, understated - but at the same time - grand in scope and vision... the construction of the Enterprise teaser trailer for the relaunch of STAR TREK. No matter what you think of the Enterprise being made on Earth... you can not deny that it looks cool. I suppose the Enterprise could take off from Earth at impulse power - but a ship can't achieve warp in an atmosphere (at least that's what we've been told, right?) Here's the teaser...
Hey folks, Harry here - got sent this by about 75 rabid Star Trek fans - and since I just got through with mail, I'm posting it in the the vain hopes that the flood will subside. If you click on the image below - you'll see it full size - and that's where it is pretty darn impressive.... although - watching it move on the Trek teaser before CLOVERFIELD is probably the best way to see this shot... till then, here's all ya got though...
Hey folks, Harry here... I love Nimoy's voice... gives me the shivvers while making me feel warm. I love me the space elf! Here ya go... BTW - it's fake
Probably not. But just in case, check this out. I figure if anyone will be able to tell me what this image actually is and where it came from, it would be our readership. Follow the link in the e-mail below, and have at it:
...with some material from this weekend's STAR TREK Remastered. It's "The Deadly Years". In this episode, something funky happens to Kirk & his sidekicks on a planet. They start aging rapidly - except for Chekhov. With many of the leads buried beneath not-so-convincing old age make-up, Enterprise scrambles to address the crisis...a perfect time for those damn Romulans to attack.
