Vern’s DTV Octagon: DMX Vs. DOLPH LUNDGREN!

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

Okay, before you read anything else, you have to check out this interview with DMX if you didn't read it when it was first posted about two weeks ago. His reaction when told about the campaign of Barack Obama makes for some of the craziest reading of the year so far, and I find myself laughing each and every time. I want Vern to interview DMX next. My head would explode from happiness, I think.

Moriarty’s One Thing I Love Today! HBO’s JOHN FROM CINCINNATI!

Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here.

David Milch should get back in the game.

I loved DEADWOOD. Absolutely adored every cocksucking second of it. I loved the characters, the tone, the look, the direction, the sense of time and place. And when HBO and/or David Milch pulled the plug (I’ve read differing accounts of what went down) a year before the story should have ended, it felt like a betrayal, and as a result, I refused to tune in to Milch’s follow-up series, JOHN OF CINCINNATI. I didn’t read about it. I didn’t watch it. I ignored it completely out of spite.

Regarding Moriarty’s Awesome Non-Stop Blu-Ray Coverage... Or Lack Thereof!

Dear Sony...

Y’know, some days it doesn’t pay to be a movie fan.

I’ve done tons of DVD coverage over the years here at AICN, and it’s funny... I’ve heard some people actually say, “But you guys don’t really cover DVD at Ain’t It Cool, do you?” I know I’ve been writing reviews for DVD since 1999 at least. And I’ve been a home video freak for as long as there’s been home video. I was a first generation video nerd in the ‘70s.

Quint takes a look at THE MIST and SWEENEY TODD 2-discers!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a quick look at two upcoming DVD releases. THE MIST hits on DVD this very day and SWEENEY TODD hits next Tuesday. Both have single disc edition and two-disc special editions. Of course, the single disc editions on both are worthless, and the two-discers are the ones to opt for.

Moriarty’s One Thing I Love Today! 42nd STREET FOREVER VOL. 3: EXPLOITATION EXPLOSION!

Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here.

I know right now it’s cool to be giddy over the various HD releases showing up in our homes via On Demand premieres or on Blu-Ray disc, and believe me... as soon as I get my PS3 back (long story and longer process) from Sony, I plan to spend about 72 hours watching all the Blu-Ray discs I have stacked on my desk and unopened right now...

Harry's DVD PICKS AND PEEKS for 1st Week of March: C.H.U.D., 12 ANGRY MEN, Cult Films, Seuss, Disney, Herzog & further insanity

Hey folks, Harry here… Sorry for the lateness of the column – but I was two reviews from finishing this last Saturday – when my computer ate it. I’m sure you know the pain. The agony. The mental horror at seeing a few thousand words destroyed in a blink that you replay a thousand times in your mind trying to figure out… what did I do? Why didn’t it get saved in the miracle Mac back up system? Why me, God? Why me?

HD DVD dead... No More Format War... Go Buy A Blu Ray Player

Hey folks, Harry here... Depending who you are... you're either jubilant or morose today - because it's pretty much over. Sources inside Toshiba have begun leaking to the press - that Toshiba is no longer going to be manufacturing HD DVD players - and is abandoning the format altogether. Apparently, this decision is going to cost Toshiba hundreds of millions of dollars -

That GOTHAM KNIGHT Sneak Is Online!

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

And it is beautiful.

I am pleased that JUSTICE LEAGUE isn’t happening at the moment, and that it’s not going to dilute what Nolan’s doing in live-action with Batman right now.

I’m equally pleased that the animated side of things continues to be a fertile playground for all sorts of artists who want to play with the iconography of Batman and his rogue’s gallery.
