Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Remake, reboot, whatever they're calling this new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie I gotta say... it's looking sharp. Pardon the pun.
Visually the flick looks stunning... high production value, Jackie Earle Haley looks to be really kicking ass and taking names as Freddy and the nightmare imagery is cranked up to 11.

Hey folks, Harry here... with the winners of my CRAZIES screening we're doing tomorrow night. Sorry this took me a while, but I really did read all 561 emails that did include their "Crazy" story. I'll share some of the stories (none of the names) at the event, before intro-ing Breck... just so you know who you're sitting with... but this goes far beyond the bungee jumping or sky diving. There are people that have spent time in a looney bin, people that had sex that just ain't right and ate things...

NOTE: Read this entire post and make sure the email you send has EVERYTHING I ask for in it, or it gets deleted.
This week, we'll be welcoming Director Breck Eisner to the Alamo Drafthouse South for a special AICN / FANTASTIC FEST screening of his remake of George Romero's often overlooked film, THE CRAZIES.

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here, with the fourth of four screenings for next week here in the Windy City, and this one might be the one I'm most excited about because I've actually seen this film, and it's fantastic stuff.

Update: It appears this is not legit. It's my fault. I apologize. The talkbacks here have been fun though so if you want to continue to argue the merits of Elfman's work in THE WOLFMAN by all means continue.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I just recently returned from 18 days of continuous travel (21 days if you count the road trip to New Orleans that led up to within 8 hours of my departure for Sundance) and I landed in Austin with just about an hour to make the AICN screening of THE WOLFMAN.
The travel gods smiled upon me and the flight was smooth, the arrival early and bags among the first off the plane, so I was able to make my way to the Alamo and take in THE WOLFMAN.

I set about writing a review of THE WOLF MAN shortly after getting home, Monday night, after our screening. I had stopped about halfway through the piece, and when I got a note from Universal saying that the Embargo was lifted, I went back to reread what a wrote and I've decided to begin again.

Hey fright-fans, Harry here with the latest "Harry Toon" from Cartuna (the amazing D. Campbell MacKinlay). How could we not do a WOLFMAN animation. And while we did use the Benicio/Rick Baker Wolfman as the guideline for the WOLFMAN - we simply had to go with the original film's canes. I'm sorry, I'm old fashioned that way.

Hey folks, Harry here with the details on our screening of the brand new take on THE WOLFMAN!!! And there's some pretty darn cool things going on with this screening. First, we have lead producer, Scott Stuber stopping in to chat with us about THE WOLF MAN and answer any questions you may have about the film... We might have some treats for y'all - but best of all... One of the Alamo's culinary wizards has whipped up a delicious treat that will be complimentary to all attendees.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. In the last post I made about a series of Mondo posters I made reference to a few super sweet designs that I had seen and would hopefully be able to share with you. Well, that became a reality when Universal approached us to debut their officially licensed posters for Wolfman and the original Lon Chaney Jr. The Wolf Man (my favorite). Check them out (click for super large versions):

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here sitting in my LA hotel room trying to fend off the Sundance AIDS that has apparently overtaken every single person who saw at least 2 movies in Park City over the last 11 days. I'm not ready to call this Captain Tripps yet, but I think a Coldbuster at Jamba Juice is in order.
Blah-blah-blah... you don't give a shit about my clogging sinuses, what you want to see are the two new rad posters from those geeky geniuses at Mondo. They're moving in on some officially licensed posters for current films now, which I love.

Hey, everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
I was a big supporter of writer-director-editor Ty West's 2009 feature THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, a film that truly did capture the look and spirit of '70s horror b-movies that preyed on the nation's then-newly rediscovered fears of satanic cults. The film played to packed houses and enthusiastic crowds at Fantastic Fest and eventually got a limited release around the country, and the reviews were highly positive.
