When CBS announces its 2008-2009 schedule on Wednesday, its vampire private investigator drama “Moonlight” will not be on it, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The same story indicates that sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” will be CBS’ only sophomore series in the coming season. “Cane,” “Welcome to the Captain,” “Kid Nation” and “Viva Laughlin” were CBS series that didn't get beyond season one.

Fox doesn’t announce its fall slate until Thursday, but producers of “Fringe,” “Sit Down, Shut Up” and “The Inn” have apparently already learned the netlet is taking their pilots to series.
“Fringe,” from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot (“Alias,” “Lost”), is about a hot FBI girl who teams with a troubled scientist to investigate a growing wave of paranormal activity.

My father kept a “Family Book” on me, ever since I was born – and in the first 3 years of my life… apparently my favorite thing in the world was SPEED RACER. I have zero recollection of this – but it’s been in that book as long as I have memory – but honestly, I haven’t really gone back to that series since the age of three. I’ve tried, but the animation was just too crude for my tastes – but I do love it’s addiction to speed, badass technology and stylized vehicular and physical violence. Oh… and the monkey.

Hey folks, Harry here... As I was watching CNN HD last night - as Lou Dobbs went to commercial - suddenly a green MPAA trailer screen filled as a voice said, "And now an exclusive look at the new STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS trailer" -- And I watched this trailer and felt glee... You know - the modern Star Wars trilogy - which I did enjoy... but I was always conflicted by the CG... it felt like it wanted to be a cartoon. It seemed that George, honestly, was wanting to have absolute visual control... and that really does work best in the animated format.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. If you own or have been in the immediate vicinity of an XBOX 360 in the last year you've probably played BIOSHOCK. If you haven't, BIOSHOCK was one of the coolest releases on any platform last year.

The game opens with an ocean plane crash. You control the one survivor as he's adrift. As the wreckage of his plane sinks he sees a small, rocky island... weirdly, there's an art deco style building.

The SciFi Channel says:
The cancer-stricken President Laura Roslin and hotheaded pilot Kara Thrace both must make difficult leaps of faith in order to accept an uneasy alliance with the Cylons.
* Nana Visitor, who worked with Ron Moore on “Deep Space Nine,” may turn up this week as Roslin’s fellow cancer victim “Emily Kowlski,” who turns out to be a big Gaius Baltar fan.
* Starbuck and Athena will pay a visit to a basestar.

“Lost” lost two hours of its fourth season thanks to the writers’ strike, but will get those two hours back over the show’s 5th and 6th seasons, according to producers.
The original plan was to have “Lost’s” 4th, 5th and 6th seasons run 16 hours each. The plan now:
Season Four: 14 hours.
Season Five: 17 hours.
Season Six: 17 hours.
Season six will continue to be the series’ last.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I love that above image, created by Gabe Koerner, who you may remember as being one of the central figures of the Star Trek fan doc TREKKIES. It's a beautiful image, something that would be impressive to see on the big screen.

Allison Mack, who plays Lois Lane’s news-hen cousin Chloe Sullivan, may be leaving “Smallville” at the end of this season over money issues, according to TV Guide’s Mike Ausiello.
Aside from Tom Welling (who plays Clark Kent) and Michael Rosenbaum (who plays Lex Luthor), Mack is the only actor who’s appeared in every “Smallville” episode.
Rosenbaum has announced he is leaving the series after the current season.

Mike Ausiello of TV Guide reports exclusively that “Babylon 5” icon Bruce Boxleitner has joined “Heroes” in a recurring role. No additional word on the nature of the role aside from the fact that it evolved from a John McCain-like character.
Find all of Ausiello’s story on the matter here.

Unlike the earlier unofficial version, the official trailer doesn’t employ Foo Fighters, but it does feature more footage!
I’m not entirely certain, but I think the mutants are driving a Klingon bird of prey now!
It hits Nicktoons early next year. Watch the trailer here.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm not shy about my adoration of the Fleischer-esque SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW. It's trendy to crap on that movie now and I can see how it wouldn't work for some sensibilities, but it totally plays to me.
Much like how this short film plays to me. It has nothing to do with SKY CAPTAIN or that film's team, but it feels like a kindred spirit. It's called IRON SKY and goddamn does it look fun.

Describing SPEED RACER is kinda like trying to describe an acid trip. A really fun, colorful, shiny acid trip. While some of you may cry foul at the comparison of what's purported to be a kids' film to LSD, I'm surely not the first person in the world to suggest some kids' entertainment was also designed for those experimentally inclined. I mean, I know kids keep all kinds of kooky hours, but Teletubbies at 4am was always a crack up to me. Fortunately, this should be (I hope) completely lost on the young 'uns while being blatantly obvious to the grown ups.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've already told you guys how I feel about the flick and now we're starting to get word back from those seeing advance screenings of the movie, even one or two from the AICN Austin screening.
The word is pretty split. Some like it, some don't. We've got a good balance of both views below! Enjoy, but be warned... there are some spoilers below!
