...with the results of AICN's BRISCO COUNTY DVD giveaway. If you don't recall the details of this contest, you can read more about it HERE.
Before we go any further, I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to submit stories. We received over 80 entries, and I'm amazed at the ingenuity and creativity of the entries.
They were wildly diverse. Some were grounded firmly in the "universe" of BRISCO COUNTY, while others traveled through time and space (one adventure found Brisco on alongside Quint on the deck of the Orca). Many featured historical figures (the Lumiere brothers and Thomas Edison for example). Some were mighty long, others were mighty short. Most were quite well written. The AICN staff was brutally murdered in a variety of ways (I was used as a human shield in one submission, and was apparently quite effective), and a surprising number of entries involved Harry and bestiality (poor, poor Comet). In a similar vein, Moriarty appeared in one saga as an...untrustworthy...stable boy. All of it was crazy stuff...all of it was fun stuff. Every entry was considered.

Hola all. Massawyrm here.
Movies this bad don't happen by accident. Careful planning, time and dedication is required to waste millions of dollars and two whole hours of an audiences time. I mean, first you have to call up your buddy at th

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The extensive SuperHeroHype Message Boards are rich with these snuck pics from TRANSFORMERS. Seems like those board guys pop up with a new pic every day! On top of that, there's a pic of a street mock-up with a ton of transformers standing around, coming from Seibertron.com. They're just cut-outs, but you can get a good idea of the scale difference between each character. Tons of goodies around. Here are the pics!

Hey folks, Harry here... It isn't often that I let AICN sponsor a theatrical run of a film here in Austin, but when Kier-La at the Alamo Drafthouse asked if I'd be interested in lending whatever pull - that the name of AICN has to their run of a fil

Hey folks, Harry here... THE HOST is one of my favorite films of the year. Just wonderful. Here ya go - Anton Sirius is getting witty again...
Greetings starkinder! Some quick hits before I get into the full reviews...
- Saw a Romanian film called 12:08 East of Bucharest (2006, directed
by Corneliu Porumboiu). The production was a little, uhh, rough, but
the movie wasn't that bad. I's about a small-town TV station's look
back at the fall of Communism in that country - sort of a "where were
you when Ceausescu fled?" themed talk show - that hits a kind of

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a review from Kiwi Tom. He calls the DOA movie a spiritual sequel to STREET FIGHTER: THE MOVIE. But in a good way. "It's shitty and awesome in all the ways that Street Fighter was, and

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with another review of Michel Gondry's SCIENCE OF SLEEP. I have seen this flick as well and I really dug it. Nobody, and I mean nobody, portrays flawed relationships like Gondry. It's not as likable as ETERNAL SUNSHINE, but SLEEP has its own personality and its own unique vibe. I really like it, but Iamnicksaicnsn walked away disappointed. Here's his view!
Hey guys,
I've got a review for ya, and boy was this movie a doozy. I saw "The Science of Sleep" last night. As many AICN readers already know, this movie was directed by Michel Gondry, the director of the timeless "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," as well as Dave Chappelle's Block Party," "Human Nature," and his cornucopia of genius music videos.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a press release that was sent out confirming/announcing the last of the cast for DEATHPROOF, Tarantino's end of the big Team-Up with Robert Rodriguez, GRINDHOUSE. There's one member in particular that'll split the horror community as this director is beloved by half the gore hounds and demonized by the other half. I'm on the beloved side. Can't wait to see what the fuck this exploitation experiment looks like when all is said and done. The footage they showed at Comic-Con from Rodriguez's segment was great (read my coverage here!!!. This'll rock us next year!

Hey folks, Harry here... In my MySpace domain, I received a messaged from my "friend" Advanced Dark sending me to some pics he'd posted on MySpace to use on AICN - and boy did he score some good ones! First off - it's our first look at the new Ben Grimm - THING - makeup - and it is, to me, a strong improvement over the brow-less burn victim look of the last time out. They've made the cracks more distinctive and the brow is now pronounced... reasonably - albeit - not the big brow of the comics, which in a practical creation - would look horrible, but as a CG creation, would look great... I think. But I totally get wanting to do as much practical as possible, simply on the expense basis. The shots seem to show Ben meeting some kids - and is it just me - or is that Asian kid freaked out? Sure seems freaked out. Of course, man - can you imagine being a kid and getting to meet the "real" Ben Grimm? It'd be pretty damn sweet. Our first set look is a good one, let's hope that's a trend.

Hey folks, Harry here - The trailer for the English language Eastwood Iwo Jima flick has popped up online, and it looks damn good. The look of the film is immaculate and the texture of the period seems very lush. There's also a sadness to the images as well as an authenticity that I really really like. It feels like it pops right out of a LIFE magazine cover. Can't see this one soon enough.
