Marking Nine Years at AICN....
In 2000, around Thanksgiving, I signed onto to AICN to add anime coverage to its then running Asian media column. Soon there after, as that feature faded away, AICN Anime was spun into its own column.

I am thirty-five years old, and I am visiting Disneyland for the first time. Walking down Main Street U.S.A., I feel like an interloper, like a slightly suaver Peter Lorre casting ominous shadows on childhood memories being recalled or created. Everyone is so damn happy. I shouldn't be here.

Hey folks, Harry here with our exclusive TOY STORY 3 character poster. Disney sent these out to pretty much all of the online entertainment web folks with the idea of promoting tomorrow's big online launch of the Glorious Quicktime HD Tootsie Pop of a Trailer for TOY STORY 3 which is the first look at the actual film and not just something they whipped up promotionally separate from the film. But frankly, the best way to see this trailer is attached to TOY STORY 1 & 2 in 3D... which is in theaters right now.

Hey folks, Harry here with something so incredibly delightful that I just had to share. Sunday nights are Movie Nights for me. Where my wife goes out dancing with her best friend, and my dear friend Diana comes over and we watch a double feature. Tonight we started off with GRACE - an astonishingly wonderful horrifyingly profane film featuring the cutest baby ever. We were at such an icky place that we had to put on something happy... So I put on the direct to DVD - WALLACE & GROMIT'S MATTER OF LOAF & DEATH!

Hey folks, Harry here - I have to say, I've got a real positive attitude about this project. For the last 40+ years we've seen adaptations of YELLOW SUBMARINE - not in media, but in Merchandize. We've seen slot machines, a gorgeous Yellow Submarine model of Wurlitzer, those awesome toys, lava lamps, clothes, etc, etc, etc... This makes sense. This is an amazingly rich world, just looking at the Beatles Rock Band versions of this universe. Well, it feels like the most basic of attempts at it.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Yeah, I have a crush on Anna Faris. So do you, so shut up.
This interview was for CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, and while we do cover the process of working on an animated film the most interesting bit of the conversation to me is her quite frank revelation of how difficult it is to produce a movie within the studio system towards the end of the chat.
Hope you enjoy! Here’s the interview which took place during the craziness of Comic-Con 2009:

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Look, I love Robert Zemeckis' flicks and it's kind of appropriate that he tackle another Beatles film since his first real calling card as a director was the Beatlemania flick I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND, but YELLOW SUBMARINE is very, very dear to me.
I love the animation style, the biting satire and just plain weirdness of the original animated movie and I worry that remaking it will lose one of those key elements that made the original work so well.
