Hey folks, Darth Harry here. Ya know... I get asked approximately a bazillion times a day... "Duuuuhhhh hay Harry, what's gonna happen with Boba Fett? Is he gonna be a chick? Is it true that that new kung fu dude is him?" etc etc etc... Truth to the matter is that when George originally thought about STAR WARS... He didn't really give too much thought to Boba Fett... Then a Star Wars Christmas Special comes along with a Joe Johnston animated Fett, then there was the whole send off for the toy with the firing rocket thing... and then he outfoxes Solo and nearly blows Luke's head off and then the toys begin selling like all hell... and Every fan everywhere starts coming up with personal mythology background history for the character and George sees the potential in the character. We also know that George claims to not read the novels, so anything you might've learned there is probably Bantha... well, you know. He does read the comics, but it isn't canon. George has claimed that he's got a significant part in what's to come... What will this be? Is it to hunt down and kill the jedi? Was he a jedi? Who knows.. but over at that Jedi Council thingee at StarWars.Com ol Steve Sansweet decided to take on a question about Boba Fett's history as regards to the upcoming film, and... well... It's the best thing I've seen written about what's real and isn't. I have the first paragraph here... but there's alot more there... Check it out..

My advice: Forget everything you knew, or thought you knew about the origins of Boba Fett. While none of us have seen a script of Episode II or have an idea of the direction in which George Lucas is taking the character, it's fairly safe to say that he won't be held to any of the back stories that have arisen over the years to try to explain the roots of this strong, mostly silent type. If there is any hint of Fett's beginnings, it will be all George.
