Alright, so Harrison Ford weenie-d out on Steven Soderbergh's TRAFFIC for an undetermined action film. There's been a lot of speculation about how this must be INDIANA JONES AND THE LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS or INDIANA JONES AND THE GOLDEN PIKACHU. The other title is his 3rd Jack Ryan film. Well... today I've been all about digging around Harrison Ford's world.

Now these are BY NO MEANS, the only projects in front of Harrison Ford at the moment, but these are the two I got the skinny on today. First up is SUM OF ALL FEARS, the third Jack Ryan/Tom Clancy adaptation for Ford. Akiva Goldsman is no longer on board to write this one, there's a new screenwriter Paul Attanasio (QUIZ SHOW, DONNIE BRASCO, SPHERE and DISCLOSURE) working away on the script. Word from 'Sprout' is that the script should be coming in the next week or so.... and with that draft, Ford and the production will fast track to shooting this summer for release Summer 2001. That's if the script meets up to Ford's standards.

Now... The other project that Ford is looking at, I last wrote about 1,784 stories ago. (CLICK HERE TO READ ABOUT IT) This project is called GEMINI MAN and according to Sir Etch-A-Sketch over at Disney (Who I must say Congrats for the promotion ol boy! Gotsta love all your bosses leaving!) has given me the latest on. Sir Etch-A-Sketch tells me that Michael Eisner raves about this project as though it were the second coming of THE LION KING. The Mouse House has spent millions on Visual Effects Research and Development to do the main trick that the script requires. (Read my old story that I linked to for the details) For quite some time, the circular eared fellows were haggling with Mel Gibson, but Mel was vicious in regards to the pie slice of Foriegn Gross he wanted, and they came to part. So... They have to turn and look for another actor that is in his late 40's to late 50's that has a shitload of charisma. So, they currently are out to Harrison Ford. Now personally... To me... I have to say that I want to see Harrison Ford do GEMINI MAN because, well it's quite a bit different from his other films, it's cool as hell and I know for sure it has a great script. Which of course all are points for why he'll just get Phillip Noyce to direct him in SUM OF ALL FEARS or even worse... a light hearted romantic comedy... cuz he's so good at that.

I wonder what he'll do next...
