Sundance: YOU CAN COUNT ON ME mini-review

Hey folks, Harry here with the first filing from Sundance this year... YOU CAN COUNT ON ME... and somehow I missed it in my advance look... but I hadn't heard it was produced by Scorsese. Very cool, but I hope we have a more lengthy look at it later on in the fest! Take it away nameless...

Hey Harry..Im a spy down here in Salt Lake City who attended a Sundance film entitled You Can Count On Me, which is executive produced by Martin Scorsese and stars Laura Linney and Matthew Broderick. Heres my little thing I wrote if you would like post it. Thanks!

Just to let everyone know here on the board..Martin Scorsese executive produced a wonderful film that debuted tonight at the Sundance film festival.

It stars Laura Linney (The Truman Show), and Matthew Broderick (Ferris Beuhler) and is directed by Kenneth Lonergan who also co-wrote the Robert DeNiro/Billy Crystal comedy "Analyze This". The story follows Sammy (Linney), a single mother who is raising her son in a small New England town when one day, her brother who has been around the country comes home and gets envolved with their lives after being gone for a long time. The story shifts from her job at the bank to her romantic envolvement with her boyfriend, and the bank manager, and also the relantionship between her brother and her son. The film turned out to be laugh out loud hilarious at times, and also touching and poignant.

Hopefully this film will find a good distribution company and will be released. A very good film that deserves recognition.
