I guess technically this belongs on Coaxial, since it is Television related, but it is also very much about AICN... so... I’m putting it here.

Yesterday you might of seen either in USA TODAY or the STUDIO BRIEFING on IMDB.... a brief article talking about a “AICN Television Show”

It then went on to detail a whole bunch of fun stuff about various concepts and pitches that were apparently put out in some sort of memo/proposal. The article claimed this Proposal came directly from me to ‘studio’ types. This is.... not quite the truth. Fact of the matter is that I have never seen this ‘memo’ that the writer of the article has spoke of.

However.... I am in talks and have been for about 6 months now. In fact, I’m going out to L.A. next week to take some promising meetings on the entire show next week.

The show is going to be... quite a bit of fun.... when it is set up. Which it isn’t yet. The reason I haven’t talked about it on the site yet is simply because it is in the very very early stages.

I have been being very cautious about the development of the show because... quite frankly I think entertainment news television has not been very good so far. I want to change that, and it is my goal to make it work outside of Hollywood.

I have always hated those... it’s ‘Wayne’s World meets Entertainment Tonight meets PeeWee’s Playhouse’ type of descriptions... it’s too.... heh... PLAYER-esque. What I’m working on is something that hasn’t been on television before. That tries it’s hardest to be somewhat original in it’s approach to Televised Entertainment Journalism. A type of show that would ask Directors, Screenwriters, Actors, Fans, Grips, Film Students, Regular Joes... And blends it all up for something... that has never been on Television before. This is not a show about a bunch of Funny Sketches.

So... Why am I writing this? Well... Basically to say... The article that has hit does not quite have all the facts, thoughts or concepts in place, because... quite frankly... We are still working out the kinks.

This will not mean the end of the site... No... I will not retire from the site. This site is my first love, in terms of my career.

My goal is to simply create a new media companion to the site that will heighten the fun we have here with AICN...
