Hey folks - Harry here... Ya know what - when I heard Capone was doing a Chicago AICN event - I just could not let that stand. SO about 12 hours ago (wink) I called up Tim League of the awesome Alamo Drafthouse and the plotting began. We wanted to do something more epic than Truckasaurus at TRANSFORMERS... but what.... what would trucker culture give to us this time. How can we subvert something Red State - and make it Geek State? The answer came to us like a super-charged Thunderball... Mr. JetPack... Yes... We will dress Mr Jetpack up as IRONMAN - and have him fly around the Alamo Drafthouse in advance of our Epic Screening of IRON MAN! Yessss! Yesssss! We will have the dream of the future, there today. A man in a real fucking Jet Pack... dressed as our Marvel Hero of the day - and we'll fucking have him FLY for your amusement, amazement and as theatrical foreplay of a ridiculous level of risk to life and limb! That's right! IRON MAN will fly... no strings or mirrors, no diving out of a plane... there will be no nets or parachutes... IRON MAN will take off, fly and land - all with the superior innovation promised to us for the past century - and we will be there rocking with the BLACK SABBATH pounding beats as we see IRON MAN fly... before he kicks ass in the theater! Here's how you get in!!!

To make it even more special, however, we will be having a live appearance by Iron Man himself (or at least the closest real-life equivalent we could find) : Mr. Jet Pack International. Before the screening, we'll be treated to a display of technology that was only in the dreams of sci-fi filmmakers until now. Mr. Jet Pack International will take off from the Alamo South Lamar parking lot, fly above the crowd and return to earth to shake hands, hold babies and sign cleavage.

Admission to this screening is free, HOWEVER, since every self-respecting geek clearly wants to go, we're going to make you work for it a little bit. To secure a ticket, you need to send us a photo (RGB, .jpg, less than 400KB) of you either dressed as Iron Man or Tony Stark (dressing as Iron Man will clearly get you a better shot). We'll select the 100 best photos and those folks will receive a pair of tickets to the show. Before the jet pack demonstration, we'll have an Iron Man costume contest with assorted prizes and merchandise for the winners. Photos are due by Thursday, April 24rd at 5:00 PM CST. We'll announce the winners on April 25 at 5:00 PM CST. Photos can be sent to Ironman@OriginalAlamo.Com.
