Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. On April 1st, LatinoReview ran a story about a new Halo script floating around out there. They swore up and down that it wasn't an April Fool's Day joke and I believe them. I've heard word about Stuart Beattie (COLLATERAL) writing a HALO script, but the word I heard was different from what LatinoReview reported.

They say it's a spec script and the word I heard was that the producers of HALO brought Beattie in to do a complete rehaul of the script.

Despite the film version of HALO disappearing, I think it'd be foolish to believe it's dead. Even Bungie made a comment recently talking about the Peter Jackson produced film and how it's going to fill in the world of the game. I love Neil Blomkampf's HALO shorts he did for HALO 3 and if I were a betting man, I'd say that this sci-fi flick Blomkampf's about to shoot is going to be used as proof of his ability to handle the Halo universe on film.

I hope it happens quickly, though. HALO's about as hot as it'll get now. If they wait too long to make the flick, they might lose some of the steam.
