THE TREEHOUSE GANG spec is bought up by WB! Think a grown-up GOONIES...
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We've been talking up screenwriter Timothy Dowling on this site for damn near a decade. He wrote the fantastically funny short GEORGE LUCAS IN LOVE and has been trying to make the big time in Hollywood ever since. Now he hit it, selling his spec script called THE TREEHOUSE GANG, which was picked up in a bidding war by Warner Bros for a shit-ton of money.
The story is about four friends who used to treasure hunt as kids who meet up once more at their high school reunion and band together once more for a new adventure, while having to get over 10 year old grudges.
Sounds like a grown up GOONIES, doesn't it? I hope it captures that style and tone. David Heymen, who has produced all the HARRY POTTERS so far, is attached to bring it to the big screen and I hear they are right this minute going out to directors. Thoughts?
