Screening an assortment of glorious grindhouse trash, of course. What else would he be doing there?

Ever since the passing of Sherman Torgan, founder of the New Beverly Theater, a group of filmmakers who loved him and his work and his programming have decided that they’ll do whatever they can to keep the place alive. One of them actually went so far as to buy the building that the New Beverly is in so that it can’t be evicted. And now several of them, including Tarantino, Edgar Wright, and Eli Roth, have stepped up to do programming blocks with special guests designed to help bring new viewers to the place.

Edgar’s THE WRIGHT STUFF festival was insane fun, and the night he did PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE, BUGSY MALONE, and ISHTAR in one evening was so absurdly great it’s hard to describe.

Now Eli is programming THE GREATS OF ROTH, and there is some remarkable sleaze coming your way as a result. Tonight, I’ll be in Hollywood for a double-feature of PIECES...

... and TORSO...
