Hey folks, Harry here… As the year comes to a close and comes to a birth – we, the lovers of DVD in all its forms, are left without much to look forward to this January 1st, New Year’s Day. It’s a sad selection – personally I’d love for them to come out with a bunch of cool new titles – as we all have gift cards and returned item money that’s burning a hole in our pocket and well… all we have to look forward to is the following week. SHOOT ‘EM UP

I fucking had a blast with this movie. Is it realistic? Hell No! Is it fun? Yes! Is there a sex scene with Monica Bellucci while killing dumb fucks trying to ruin sex with Monica? YES! Is the film fantastically absurdist? Yes. Clive Owens and Paul Giamatti hilarious exchanges? Yes! And a cool stylized look that is all at once derivative of John Woo, but not at all John Woo in tone? WAR

One of those ludicrous middle of the road action films starring two leads that we like a lot, in a film that’s just not on par with what we wished they’d do. That said, it’s a passable film. A good attempt. The conclusion left me wanting to pull my hair out – and is telegraphed about a million miles away. But… hey… wanna see Jet Li versus Jason Statham? Here’s your chance. WEIRD SCIENCE – THE COMPLETE SEASONS 1 & 2

I swear… I’ve never in my life heard of this. When I was a kid, WEIRD SCIENCE was and probably still is, my personal favorite John Hughes flick. That’s not to say it is the best, but it’s the one I wished I could live in. I mean, that night I strapped the 38DD bra on my head and hooked up my little South Korean Model Doll and conjured my wife out of my computer… well I owe it all to WEIRD SCIENCE, and now there’s an entire two season series based on the film? And apparently I’ve just been missing out – well no longer… I have it and it’s not as great as the film, but it’s pretty darn great.

JIMMY AND JUDY

While I don’t think this is an ingrown hair on the left nut of NATURAL BORN KILLERS – I can imagine someone getting carried away enough by how surprisingly good and intense this little film is… to blurt something like that out, while caught up in the moment of discovery. Best reason to pick this up is for Edward Furlong. I’ve been hoping for a sign of life out of him for quite some time. And here it is.

INDIE SEX

I’m a dirty old film geek – no doubt… so when I saw this DVD cover and the following description – I decided it was the perfect addition to this column to just keep all you other filthy dirty geeks well, filthy and dirty. Here’s what Amazon says about the release:
