Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Dean Parisot earned a lot of street cred with GALAXY QUEST. I recently rewatched the movie at the Alamo Ritz and goddamn if that's not a great movie. I'm currently watching the HD-DVD set of STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES and I'm finding it hard to shake some of the gags from GALAXY QUEST still.

So, Parisot's last flick was the Jim Carrey vehicle THE FUN WITH DICK AND JANE, which I didn't see, but didn't hear very good things about. However, he has done some good TV recently, including CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM and MONK.

Now he's got a movie called WEEKEND WARRIOR in the works at Warner Bros, which is described as a supernatural action comedy in the tone of GHOSTBUSTERS about a high school teacher who somehow stumbles into becoming a superhero. Not sure how much I love that idea, but the guy who directed GALAXY QUEST doing a comedy in the vein of GHOSTBUSTERS is enough for me think happy thoughts until I find out some more. What about you?
