Hooper slips behind the wheel of King's BUICK!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I have a lot of respect for Tobe Hooper. I'm a big fan of most of his early work, especially LIFEFORCE, but I haven't been impressed with anything he's done in a while. I think his MASTERS OF HORROR stuff is about as bad as it gets, trying to ape a "hip new style" instead of being himself.

That said, I don't think he's down for the count. I trust he still has it in him to make a great movie. Will it be an adaptation of Stephen King's FROM A BUICK 8, which he just signed on to direct? I can't say. It's the only Stephen King book I haven't read. I got about 100 pages into it, put the book down to do something else and never picked it back up again. I'm sure I'll get to it again because I didn't dislike what I was reading, but it just didn't grip me. And I'm a Stephen King whore. If I got through TOMMYKNOCKERS I can finish FROM A BUICK 8.

This is another King project that was originally supposed to be done by Romero... we can now add that to the pile that includes THE STAND and THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON (although to be fair, that one might still happen).

Johnathan Schaech and Richard Chizmar scripted the adaptation and Moonstone Entertainment is producing.
