Alright folks, this rumor can now come out of the 'rumor mill' and go into the factual realm. First off, Ian McKellen is apparently not up for the role of Gandalf as the previous report stated, but that in actuality he is considering a part in X-MEN as we live and breathe. As I thought, he isn't up for the role of Professor X, but rather.... He's up for the role of Magneto. McKellen is currently reading the script and pouring over it, trying to decide if he really wants to go in that direction or not. Personally I hope he takes the part as the film will need an actor that can lend power to the role, presence and humanity. McKellen could so bring to life that role... and as long as he played him as a real person and not a cartoon... well the film would have a chance at being a Superhero movie in which the villians didn't descend into self-parody.. which would be quite refreshing. He hasn't accepted the role yet... he's just considering it at the moment, so stay tuned for further developments...
