Probably good news. He said he's very picky on which Hollywood script he picks about being a lead in, so looks like Retirement didn't pass muster.

Ricky Gervais is taking the lead of Warner Bros' flick EARLY RETIREMENT. Mark Perez (ACCEPTED) wrote the comedy about a father who quits his stressful job in order to spend time with his family. Insanity ensues, I'm sure.

But it's Ricky Gervais. I know some people out there hate his guts, but I, for one, think he's hilarious. I'd see anything he's in, even DADDY DAY CAMP 2 or HOUSE OF THE DEAD 3. Or COUNTRY BEARS: WHEN HILLBILLIES ATTACK. I'd see them all. Pay full price.
