Lucky for us - The Alamo Drafthouse is to the rescue. Sure, it's PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END weekend... and you've probably already seen it.... repeatedly... But tonight is an amazing event.

At Midnight, at the Original Alamo Drafthouse - A legend in the field of independent filmmaking is in town. The Godfather of Gore. Literally, the guy that invented the genre, is here to show his two landmark films and talk about how he gutted the horror genre and made it bleed.

I can't wait. Herschell Gordon Lewis is in Austin, Texas. I'm taking my 2000 MANIACS original one sheet, that I had Dave Friedman sign... years ago... and have HG LEWIS john hancock it! And then I'll sit back and enjoy something red, while watching this insane double bill. Here's the trailer for the event. Originally it was to take place at a Ghost Town outside Austin, but the road got washed out due to crazy ass weather.
