James Bond Has Passed Away?
Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Indeed he has. Barry Nelson was the first onscreen Bond in the TV version of CASINO ROYALE. I’ve never had a chance to see his performance in the role, something I hope someone rectifies via DVD in the near future.
But Nelson was definitely a familiar face, one of those hard-working character actors whose career started in the ‘40s and spanned nearly 50 years.
I’m sorry we haven’t posted on this earlier, but here’s the gentle reminder I was sent earlier today.

We've lost Barry Nelson. Nelson was never a prolific actor, not one to garner an amazing amount of attention, however, he was an all around actor and he had a few memorable roles, some of my favorites on TV, The Waxwork on Alfred Hitchcock Presents and he was the first actor to play James Bond. The role I remember him most for was opposite Jack Nicholson in The Shining. Even in his minor role, he is still part of what I remember about that movie.
Stuart Ullman: "How do you think your wife and child will take to it?"
Jack Torrence: "They'll Love It."
Hopefully his passing will not be swept under, characterized by just another TV actor. Here is to a fine actor who never got his just due. Thanks for some memorable roles, Barry. you will be missed.
If you use this, call me Terroreyez.
