MSNBC has dropped its long-running simulcast of Don Imus’ radio show, effective immediately.

The show, which had taken over MSNBC in the wee hours of the morning for more than a decade, will leave a big hole in the channel’s schedule!

Does civil rights activist Jesse Jackson want the job? "Imus is on 1,040 hours a week and yet they have virtually no black show hosts,” Jackson told the AP.

Imus gets the boot after describing Rutgers University’s women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos.”

CBS Radio, which syndicates the Imus radio show, has suspended the broadcaster without pay for at least two weeks, effective Monday.

American Express, Sprint Nextel Corp., Staples, Procter & Gamble, and GM all announced they were pulling their advertsing from Imus’ show.
