Platinum Dunes Visits FIASCO HEIGHTS!!
Merrick here...
Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes continues to broaden beyond remakes (like AMITYVILLE, THE HITCHER, and two CHAINSAWs) by setting up FIASCO HEIGHTS from scripter Kyle Ward.
Story, which occurs in a stylized "hyper-real" noir environment akin to that of "Sin City," centers on a notorious hitman who teams with a failed private eye in search of a missing woman and an invaluable briefcase.
…says THIS ARTICLE IN VARIETY!
Another non-remake, the SE7EN-flavored HORSEMEN (starring Dennis Quaid), is currently in production as well. It’s about a detective who discovers connections between himself and the serial killers he’s investigating.
Fans of Dune’s remakes shouldn’t lament, though – a retooling of Hitchock’s THE BIRDS is spinning up & may go before the cameras by the end of this year. Because, you know, Hitchcock films cry out for remakes…
