This looks like PRIVATE PARTS and GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM, but with a period black spin on the material. I’m not familiar with this true story, but I enjoyed the trailer. I didn’t even realize Kasi Lemmons was working right now, so this one sort of snuck up on me, and I really enjoyed this first glimpse. Sure, it’s a fomula, but it’s a formula I always like when it’s done right.
