Doug Limon and Simon Kinberg, who respectively directed and wrote the big-screen “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” are tackling the same duties for the TV pilot. It goes without saying the Pitt and Jolie roles will be recast.

Funny thing is, CBS briefly had a 1996 Scott Bakula-Maria Bello TV series about covert operatives posing as marrieds. It was titled “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” With an ampersand.
