I am – Hercules!!

When they’re not posting to the Internets, my friends and fellow longtime AICN correspondents Scott “Obi” Swan and Drew “Moriarty” McWeeny have been cranking out screenplays together for more than a decade and a half. Their first collaboration to find its way before a national audience was their teleplay for “Cigarette Burns,” a “Masters of Horror” episode from last autumn directed by their old pal John Carpenter (“Halloween,” “The Thing”).

Carpenter, Swan and McWeeny reunite for “Pro-Life,” the “Masters of Horror” episode debuting tonight. Here’s how Showtime describes it:

A near-accident on an isolated mountain road lands young Angelique (CAITLIN WACHS) in a nearby women's health clinic. As her fervently anti-abortion father Dwayne (RON PERLMAN) and his well-armed three sons attempt to "liberate" Angelique, she discovers that the only thing more dangerous than her would-be saviors is the demonic seed growing within her. MARK FEUERSTEIN and EMMANUELLE VAUGIER also star.

Obi-Swan, in an AICN exclusive, adds:

This episode is my personal take on all these pro-choice wackos out there. When you try to give a fifteen year old girl an abortion without her parent’s consent, this is exactly what happens. Abortions, freaky demons, and tons of guns... all served up John Carpenter style. Could there be a more perfect movie for the holiday weekend? I seriously doubt it.

I take this to mean Obi would just like to see more stuff served up “John Carpenter style.” And who wouldn’t? I hope this doesn’t mean he wants abortion-on-demand extended to preteens, but you never know with The Obi.

Fans of “Commander-In-Chief” will remember Wachs as the hot First Daughter with the eyebrows. Mark Feuerstein played one of the hero Republicans on “West Wing” and is now the sidekick on CBS’ “3 Lbs.” Emmanuelle Vaugier played Dr. Helen Bryce on nine episodes of “Smallville” and Addison in “Saw II.” Everybody knows who Ron Perlman is; he’s Hellboy!
