Wes Craven's Original NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Is Coming Back To A Theater Near You... hopefully!

Hey folks, Harry here... Just got this in the ol message pile - and for lovers of Mr Krueger... well, it's a sweet bit of news. I don't know about you, but I never got to see the original NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET in a movie theater. In fact, I still haven't. I first saw the film late one night on HBO when I had spent the night at my Great-Grandfather's suburban house in Wichita Falls, Tx. It was about 1am... and I had no concept of what I was getting myself into. It scared the shit out of me, in that way that a scary movie can... when you're all alone, up past the witching hour... when the only sounds in the house is the creaking of the wood and the compressors of the air conditioner or fridge starting up and shutting down.... and of course the horror film that you are watching. New Line has been gracious enough to send this print and the "Freddy's Best Kills" to FANTASTIC FEST - but it looks like it will also be playing all around the country for 2 days - giving all of you a chance at Freddy's virgin outing - as part of their promotion for the upcoming special DVD treatment

Original 'Nightmare' To Return To Theaters -- For Two Days

In advance of its release on DVD, Wes Craven's original Freddy Krueger horror flick A Nightmare on Elm Street will be shown in 124 theaters across the country for two days only, Sept. 20 and 21, New Line announced Wednesday. In addition to the digitally remastered film, the theaters will be showing a reel of "Freddy's Best Kills," from seven Krueger sequels -- a reel, said New Line studios, "that can be seen only in theaters during this special event." Tickets are being sold online by www.BigScreenBoxOffice.com for $10.00.
