I am – Hercules!!

Very tired, so … A few quick notes:

Filmmaker Kevin Smith does indeed guest on “Ebert & Roeper” wearing colossal shorts and a tent with the name of a hockey team on it, but also proves articulate and highly entertaining critiquing “World Trade Center,” “Step Up,” “Scoop” and “Half-Nelson.” He could do this for a living should his movies start tanking.

Another hilarious new episode of “The Venture Bros.” hits The Cartoon Network tonight as the Monarch goads fellow supervillain The Phantom Limb into engineering the most terrifying assault on the Venture family yet perpetrated. Brock Samson rises nakedly to the occasion. There’s a panic room and a lot of bathroom action, including a great three-way encounter involving Dr. Girlfriend, Triana Orpheus and Triana’s hot friend.

Speaking of bathroom action, I can’t recommend highly enough Showtime’s stellar new Rhode Island crime drama “The Brotherhood,” which in a lot of ways outguns even the early “Sopranos.” “X-Files” vet Annabeth Gish loves to get fully naked on the show, and looks amazing doing so. A new episode is televised tonight, but cable subscribers who get Showtime On Demand can catch up with the first five episodes at their leisure.

Those who caught last week’s big pre-wedding episode of “The 4400” know that Billy Campbell’s messiah-like character returned from the dead at episode’s end. The promos make it look like he doesn’t know what happened to him. Perhaps tonight we’ll all get to learn together.

And, of course, we can’t forget new episodes of (a now Kaysar-free) “Big Brother” (addressing the big HoH controversy precipitated by Thursday’s live show), “Entourage” (Vince starts thinking about a “Ramones” movie), and “Deadwood” (the usual non-stop gunfights and stage-coach chases).
