Harold and Kumar Go To... Austin' Super-cool screening info plus a review here!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some cool info for you people that can be in Austin on the 10th of July. AICN, in partnership with the awesome Alamo Drafthouse and New Line Cinema, is hosting a screening of the best stoner comedy since HALF BAKED, otherwise known as HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE.
What better way to present a film about the rigorous quest to track down those elusive and delicious White Castle burgers than to hold a road rally with all you can eat Sliders at the finish line? If you've never had the pleasure, I can assure that these little burgers are tasty, addictive pieces of heaven... or hell. Not quite sure which, just that they're divine, but taste too good to be for the good, if you know what I mean.
Keep your eye out on the Alamo Drafthouse's website for ticket info as the rally date looms. The event will be a helluva time, I can quarantee you that. We got lots of surprise guests and activities planned before unleashing Harold and Kumar! More than that I can't say.
For a tasty teaser, check out the below glowing review. Hope to see you folks at the Rally!!!
Several monthes ago I had the opportunity to watch a movie I knew
little about. It was called Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. I
work at a theater and we had a really advance screening for spencer's
gifts employees. I held off with my review until there was a little
more buzz around the movie and people knew what it was.
I went into this movie not knowing much about it only the premise and
the rating of it. That was enough to get me excted about the movie.
The premise is as follows, Harold and Kumar are best friends and they
get high one night and have the munchies. They don't want the normal
food that they have all the time. They are craving something more and
just then a tv commercial for white castle comes on tv and they know
the only food that will satisfy thier munchies. They then proceed out
the scour the highways of New Jersey looking for those miniature
burgers.
I was expecting a crazy off the wall comedy that would make me bust
out laughing. What i got was exactly that. This movie is funny all
the way through. Since there isn't much of a plot, the friends just
have random events that happen to them throughout the night. Some of
the situations they get into are just funny enough as is and then the
jokes keep coming to add to it. Then there is a dream sequence
involving weed that had me rolling. and then to top it all off there
are some incredible cameos that are some of the funniest in recent
history. Neil Patrick Harris (a.k.a. Dougy Houser M.D.) is the most
noteworthy of cameos and is right up there with Bob Saget's cameo in
half baked. The other cameos include Anthony Anderson, Jamie Kennedy,
Luis Guzman and Ryan Reynolds, all of which are also noteworthy.
This movie is very obviously directed by the same guy who did Dude
Where's My Car. The humor is the same style, the film is the same
type of movie and it's just as funny if not funnier. I can not wait
til this movie is released wide in the end of july so i can watch it
again and i highly recomend this to anyone who wants a mindless
hysterical hour and a half of comedy.
