The trailer of the absolutely wonderful tiny film, DUMMY with Adrien Brody, has shown up!

Hey folks, Harry here... Every now and again I get faith in Hollywood and that the good guys can win. Case in point... DUMMY. DUMMY is an absolutely wonderful heartwarming soul-satisfying tiny film by a first time director in a genre that... well, in the Indie world... doesn't see much action. He didn't choose to shoot an action, crime, caper, horror, science fiction or adult comedy. Those are the easier genres to break into the world of distribution with. Hell look... HOUSE OF THE DEAD, which by most every account in a steaming pile of manure got distribution simply because 28 DAYS LATER made everyone everywhere think that Zombies are easy to sell... unfortunately 28 DAYS LATER, while an excellent film, isn't technically a Zombie movie... but that's another story.

No, DUMMY is one of those rare birds in the indie acquisition world. It is a film that is funny, funny not in crude ways, but in genuine old fashioned simple beautiful ways. Funny by way of quirks and oddities. Funny in a vintage funny way. The movie is warm, filled with great characters and great moments and stories of triumph and failures and minor successes and happily ever afters and bitter realities. This is a film about dreamers living those dreams, giving them up, finding them again and losing them only to discover dreams they never had and more. It is a film that just makes you frickin' love being in a theater and watching what you're watching because it's obvious that love, passion and heart went into every single frame. I love DUMMY, it's just one of my favorite tiny films of the year. Adrien Brody and Milla Jovovich are so great, as is every other character in the film. And the director... this Greg Pritikin, I tell you right now... he's magic. Magic and he's going to surprise everyone again and again because he is the genuine article. You'll see. This was my full review of the movie, and just watching this trailer brought it all back. This is a great little film! Cheers to Artisan for a smart decision here!
