the same reruns that Sci Fi constantly shows, why not? Better TV Robocop than network blandness. Of course, I hope I don't recant 20 minutes into the first installment...

Lookin' forward to it. Robocop 1 ruled, Robo 2 was pretty good, Robo 3 was utter ass, as was the first TV show. But I'm still jazzed about this one.
it's actually really good

It's got a very "western" feel to it, which was the intent of the director. LOTS of gun battles. I saw it when it played up here in BC and liked it immensely.
This is really weird...

...I saw these on DVD last time I was in Hong Kong. Didn't pick them up because I hadn't heard anything about them in a while and figured the series must have died due to suckage.

There is already a Criterion Collection Robocop DVD available. It's great. It's the unrated director's cut and it's packed with extras. Only downfall is it's not 16 x 9 enhanced. Other then that it's a NICE DVD. I'm sure the new one WILL be 16 x 9 enhanced, BUT will it have all the same extras?? I guess time will tell. (By the way, while Robocop 2 and 3 were both weak I felt 3 was a much better film then 2. It seemed like they had some real good ideas, but not enough budget to completly execute them. With more work Robocop 3 could have been something special)
I have the Criterion Collection DVD that was released stateside

I own the super-cool 'Criterion Collection' DVD with all of it's original X-Rated glory. There's a few minutes of extra gore during the opening death scene with ED-209 and the unfortunate OCP executive Kenny ("Oh my God, they killed Kenny!"). Anyway, I hope this show is way better than the last television series based on our favorite cybernetic Dirty Harry. Remember he would never kill anyone... just blow off their belt buckles or shoot out the legs of a dresser so that it would conveniently fall on his targets. Man, that was a bad show.
