Though my favorite idea would be "Black Adder II, Voyage to Cathay" or something. Wouldn't that be a cool idea? Snotty obnoxious Black Adder meets pleasant nice Jackie Chan, as a down-on-his-luck whatever. Add Michelle Yeoh as the love interest and a lot of grand sweeping vistas of medieval China (and maybe some wire-fu) and watch the yen roll in!
Cool Akira news, but....

They're incredible! Dark Horse is re-releasing the entire manga series in six volumes. I've read the first two already and I hate to say this, but the movie's starting to look less impressive as time goes on. Why? Because the more I read, the more I realize that they tried to put a gallon of story into a shotglass of film. There's just so much more going on, from the increased tension and suspense to the grand-scale fight scenes, and more importantly, things seem to make a lot more sense. And again, this is just from reading the first two volumes! I don't want to give too much away (and believe me, there's a lot of stuff that I could) so just take my advise and go read the books. I'm not trying to mock the anime. I'm just saying you'll have more fun with this.
If someone would be nice enough to point out where i can find th

I would be eternally grateful...i've been searching for the damn thing for years....as for mr. basic, i've read bits and pieces of the manga...scattered all around...and HELL YEAH it's better than the anime, and thats saying a LOT...but, i mean, really, as far as proceeding to cram 6 years worth of comics into 2 hours, and, in my opinion, doing it reasonably well, I can't bitch too much about it....heh, i remember reading a statistic somewhere that said, essentially, the anime covers 3.2 pages of the manga per second, or something along those lines...as for the "George Lucas is a hack" thing...err, no comment...i'm a star wars fan, but not a fanatic, like some people....so, anything i say, potentially, will be shot down upon speaking..... but i'll say this....as far as making such a complex series of stories to follow, United States style, he's damn good...but anybody that doesnt recognize that there are hundreds of Japanese Animes that wipe the floor with ANYTHING Lucas could fathom up needs to be reprogrammed...severely...Revo lution is my name.
you know it isn't happening soon for WKW films...

you could probably pick up or order the two volumes that've already been released at a nearby comic book store. If there isn't a comic book store nearby, you might be able to order them on-line from Dark Horse Comics at www.darkhorse.com. I haven't checked this out, but it's worth a shot. As for the "George Lucas is a hack" stuff, don't worry, while I really do think he's a hack when it comes to filmmaking (after all these decades he still can't figure out how to write dialogue?) I'm not obsessed with him or Star Wars. Truth is, I still enjoy the original trilogy. And I certainly don't wish him any harm. Mostly I use it as a calling card for the Talk-Backs, sort of like how there used to be this one person who would mention the Iron Giant in all of their Talk-Back subject lines.

Sorry about that.So I haven't seen Accidental Spy yet,but what's with Jackie doing action halfnude again?Maybe Ratner saw Spy and said"Hey!We should do that in our movie!"Oh well.I guess Chan just likes showing his ass.Isn't it a little late to be doing that? BTW,I think the WKW reference meant Tony "wrapping up"wouldn't be very quickly considering how long WKW's shoots can be.......

Well I grew up watching this anime. I was a really big fan of it. If anyone is curious this anime is a mixture of many different things like greek mythology, Norse mythology and others where certain warriors *wears* the armor of a certain constellation, for example the was awesome for that time (1980s) Pegasus. The animation quality Anyway the Saint Seiya series was ended abruptly and the last chapter which is the Hades chapter was never made. We fans have been waiting forever. Why? Cause the last chapter is awesome. In terms of fights and battles Hades chapter blows away the other chapters. This is probably the reason why it didn't get funded for Hades. And finally with new animation technology it would look great! That is if it gets the support it needs. For now I get to drool. Here is a link from a fan site with some pics for those who are interested. http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo /Towers/1132/images.htm

AccSpy means that the film isn't going to be completed soon. WKW usually takes a lot of time to finish him his films. I can't remember the exact details, but In the Mood for Love was way over schedule before it wrapped.
