"Fire Walk With Me" is somewhere on the grid for the circle of hell where the worst films ever done are screened. Shrill, sloppy, and pointless, it was painful to watch. They should have had the common sense to end TP after the Laura Palmer mystery was resolved (and they needed a better resolution, BTW). That way the F****NG BRILLIANT IN VIRTUALLY EVERY WAY two hour (U.S. version!) pilot would be better remembered as some of the best television ever done, instead of just a footnote in the history of the tube.

He's the only director who can make an extended shot of tractor wheels spinning seem like a rumination on the universe. Personally I disliked most of Fire Walk with Me, but if Lynch wants to do another one, I'm there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Lynch/TP fan. I'd love to see a new movie. But...The Straight Story was brilliant. More than anything, I want to see Lynch grow as an artist, not retread a ten year-old TV show that confused the majority of the viewing public. Plus, in order for a new movie to be any good, we'd have to have Mark Frost on board, too. Not to mention the old cast. And that cast was BIG. There's no way they'll get 'em all. Don't do it, David. Let's see some more original material from that weird-ass brain of yours.

This seems like a great idea, but didn't Lynch nix this idea years ago? If he suddenly has thoughts about going back to "Twin Peaks" (figuratively and literally) I am most definitely enthused. This biggest hurdle would be to make it accessible to the non-TP fan. Start it off years later, perhaps, with a new mystery involving Cooper (who still has Bob inside him. Or is it Bob as a Doppelganger with Cooper physically and not spiritually trapped in the Black Lodge?)

I am against this. David Lynch is my favorite director of all time. Twin Peaks is the best TV series I have ever seen. The film is amazing. The series were perfect. I DON'T WANT ANY MORE ANSWERS. I like it dreamy like that. That's the major problem with motions picture today. There is no dream after the film is over. All the answers are given. That's the magic of Twin Peaks. It let's you dream, and imagine things... NO!!! If the series were exelent why not to try something new? There lies the chalenge. So I suggest (and he will do) that mr. Lynch shaws his creativity elseware. Mulholand drive is out in a few moths. None is ever talked about it in aintitcoolnews. WHY??? LET THE DREAM STAY ALIVE. DON'T DESTROY IT.

I absolutely love Twin Peaks! You already know if you're in the Twin Peaks target audience, and if you're not, you can bugger off! I'm very skeptical that we will ever revisit TP, but I appreciate Special Agent Jeffries' hot tip, and I'll be emailing that Phoenix address to encourage that the film get made. Stalwart fans shouldn't worry about spoiling things with too many answers -- the whole point would be to whip up a bunch more mysterious unanswered questions! Free Josie from the dresser-handle! (just kidding.) I'm chomping at the bit for the Fire Walk With Me dvd, which is being produced by the people that put together the Magnolia package I think. Also bring on the box set of the whole series on DVD! Hell yeah! The Twin Peaks soundtrack has been closing-time music at every party at my house for the past ten years. People tend to remember Twin Peaks as a confounding show that pissed people off with its lack of clear resolution. In fact it was always a ratings hit and it remains beloved by fans.

...We need to revisit Twin Peaks, if for no other reason than to remove the bad taste in our mouths that was Fire, Walk With Me. There are so many unanswered questions, so many mysteries to explore, and so many well loved characters in this little universe that I would gladly return to it. However, I think that an essential part of the equation is Mark Frost, the co-creator of the series. He is the one who kept Lynch grounded and kept the show human. Given free reign, Lynch would have turned it into a weird-fest, like FWWM. Don't get me wrong, the series was the best ever on television, (at least the first season and first half of the second season were)but it was the creative partnership of these two very different artists, as well as a crack team of writers and directors, that made the series so special. If we're going to do another movie, let's make sure it reflects the whimsical tone of the series and not the unrelenting weirdness of the feature.

Oh as much as I'd love to relive the smells of wet sawdust,hot java,wanton lust,creamed corn,toasted brie on baguette sandwiches,cheese pigs,Andy,pie,Audrey Horn,Audrey Horns pie...it just wouldn't work after 10 years. It's a fanboy dream rumor no question, but for it to be true and real, as someone said above, you must have Lynch and Frost! And a reason to be back there a decade later. Look what happened to Fire Walk With Me without Frosts' writing talent. It had none of the nice quirkiness that Frosts writing brought...it was basically down and dirty evil. Which was great in it's own way. But it didn't feel right at all. I did love the first half an hour in the Twin Peaks Bizarro world. The Black Lodge town to the White Lodge town of Twin Peaks. Very nice juxtaposition! But a disjointed anticlimactic film none the less!It needed Frosts' spark. I'd be happy with an extensive novel written by Frost and Lynch about the further exploits of my favorite Northwestern gate to hell, urrr town...We all know Frost can write like a motherfucker. List of 7 was one of the best works of fiction of the last decade. The 6 Messiahs was just as good,but not as fresh since we were familiar with most of the characters. By the way does anyone know if he's written anything lately, I've searched but came up empty. The man is a great talent that I hope doesn't dry up and blow away like Robert McCammon or Dan Simmons. All great writers who have been out of the loop lately...Not to mention John Skipp and Craig Spector!!!!Where have all the horror writers gone???Woooaahh boy ease down,ease down...going off topic a bit! awhile ago on dark horizons there was a scoop about the possibility of another Twin Peaks movie. it was actually someone close to lynch, because he said that Lost Highway took place in the twin peaks universe. how cool is that? and i'm kinda bitter that this article actually had less in it than the one over at dark horizons weeks ago. but you never know with this stuff. a long way back barry gifford was going to do a sequel to wild at heart with chris issak as Sailor Ripley. we all know that never happened (thank god). which reminds me, i really want a wild at heart DVD. nothing fancy even, just something. my VHS copy is so damn fuzzy with color bleeding all over the place. i'm bitter.

... As noted above Frank (Killer BOB) Silva has indeed passed on, as has Jack Nance. I can't imagine "Twin Peaks" without Pete Martell. (Well, I can, but it's a much lesser place.) If anyone out there has read the full script to "Fire, Walk With Me" then you probably remember the film's coda, set moments after the Series' finale. in it, Annie is clutching the ring, put it is stolen by a nurse. I got the impression that Lynch was trying to bring things to a thematic close here. They cycle will continue. (My impressions are a little hazy as the last time I read the script was probably about three years ago and I've read a LOT of scripts since then.) Still, it would be nice to see if Doc Heywood had killed Ben Horne or just knocked him out or if Audrey got blowed up in the bank. (Hate to say it, but there's a good way around the loss of Nance.) If Lynch (and hopefully Frost if he's not writing another sequel to "List of Seven") wants to go back though, I'm sure he'll give us something to excite and confound us.

How can any Lynch fan not love Fire Walk With Me? It was somewhat different from the TV series, but was still amazing. One of the few movies that scared me. However I do hope that if he does it that he'll bring Frost back on board. On the other hand the weakest part of Twin Peaks (and partially what did it in) was when Lynch's involvement was weak and Frost more or less ran it. Compare the latter episodes with the final episode, for instance. And what pinache for Lynch to do a prequel and leave the cliffhanger finale alone! Yea the problem of actors is a big one. Annie is now a HUGE actress. But most of the rest are still small time or have even seen their careers dry up entirely.

Would be fantastic to see, but only with a Lynch/Frost collaboration. Perhaps Special Agent Chet Desmond can return to help Cooper escape the Black Lodge. Cooper could also possess the secret of killing Bob, which he learned from sharing "soulspace" with Bob and subsequently knowing Bob's fears (becoming a more dangerous partner to Bob than the ever-in-pursuit one-armed Gerard). The sequel to the frustrating, though captivating, series-ending episode would rank in my personal wish list of "must-sees" along with a James Bond movie featuring an updated S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and a Nick Fury movie featuring Hydra.

Hey all. Just FYI, New Line is currently working on securing the rights to Deleted Scenes for their upcoming Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Platnium Edition DVD. If anyone needs support, it's New Line, as David Lynch already agreed to edit and release over 50 minutes of cut footage from the Original Fire Walk With Me movie. New Line is trying hard to secure this footage, but are a bit hesitant, as they feel the cost for this may be a bit much compared to the demand for these scenes to be released. New Line almost released the DVD without the scenes Lynch chose to be on the disc back in December, but the Fans found out and much like what they did with the Princess Mononoke DVD, the fans were able to get New Line to try and release the DVD with the Deleted Scenes. So let's all anticipate his new film that comes out in a few months (Mulholand Drive) and forget these nonsenses about a new Twin Peaks movie. Mulholand Drive will premiere at this year's Cannes Festival. Get off the past. If the past were perfect why do it again? Why not try something something new? Introduce an all new cast? Fire Walk With Me was terrible, as was the last season. They had a great premise and stretched it out too long, and frankly, got either too bizarre or not bizarre enough -- I'm still up in the air. It sank into typical soap opera melodrama, and while I know Lynch kind of made fun of this with the soap on the t.v., it didn't work. It looked like the writers were out of ideas. And don't forget that Cooper essentially seems crazy when the show ends, possessed by Bob. But that show in its heyday was the best thing on t.v. hands-down. If they couldn't get the original cast back, I don't think I would care too much to see another film.

This is the best news I've heard in a couple of years. This is fantastic. I'm not worried because the French company said it would not go forward without Lynch. I think Mark FROST also MUST be included in that statement. I think they have several options to go, creatively, so really the financing and public support is the only thing needed. I've heard all the arguments, and I understand that some of you just didn't like FWWM, or didn't get it, or are strange non-humanoid creatures with no taste. However, I couldn't let this rumor go by without comment. I want this film. I want it BAD. And not because I neeed answers, but because I have such a ravening love for David Lynch's strange artwork.. and because Twin Peaks is fantastic. The absence of Frank Silva and Jack Nance would be difficult certainly.. but.. we've all seen Mr. Lynch work around problems before. (Like the actress who played Evelyn's sheer lack of any sort of acting talent.) And if you don't support it, and you wouldn't go see it, and you think TP is done.. well.. you don't have to go. You certainly don't have to watch it. But I doubt you'd be able to resist the lure if it came out ;) So here's to the new Twin Peaks movie. (And WHERE are those DVDs??)

Seeing FWWM on opening night is my all-time favorite movie-going experience....theatre filled with Twin Peaks fans....the cheering when the lights went down...when the music started....when we first see Coop, Gordon Cole, Laura. I thought then and I still think it was a brilliant film...dark, sad, terrifying, and yes, wierd (what's wrong with that?) The last shot was beautiful. I wouldn't mind visiting that place again. The whole situation with Coop leaves a lot of room for new dreams and nightmares. As for the 25 years thing, well, Coop is in the Black Lodge and his doppleganger is outside, so....although it would be very difficult to see a movie about an evil Coop...then again, the movie could be set 25 years later, David Lynch's vision of the not-so-distant future. Whatever, it probably won't happen anyway. A curse on ABC for dropping Mulholland Drive.

All you people here that are posting this crap are nothing but hypocrites. Some of you are truely not TP fans if you say a second movie wouldn't be any good. I do agree on having Lynch/Frost doing the film or no film at all, but I think it would be great if Lynch and Frost reunited and the first 30 minutes of the movie would be where the series left off and then after that introduce a title saying "10 years later" and then go from there. David and Mark are very good at creating shit and I bet if they actually sat down and worked together it could be as good as the Pilot was when the series actually started out.

I noticed that a lot of people here are bashing "Fire Walk With Me". Do most of you realize that the movie that was presented to the public was only 60% of the finished film? The studio demanded that Lynch butcher his film in the editing room from 3 hours+ down to a little over an hour and a half. The true Peaks Freaks that have actually read the full-shoot script will understand that great sacrifices were made to get this film to the big screen. There are MANY important parts that were cut out. Lynch is personally in talks with the French film company that holds the rights to the cut footage in order to release a true cut of the film on DVD this fall. So remember, my log does not judge. Mybe you should do the same. (Oh and by the way, I can't wait for another TP film!)

Well, I have been hoping for this for ten years, but finally gave up...only to see a spark of life left after all! Personally, I find it hard to believe that any fan of the show couldn't have liked Fire Walk With Me,since Laura Palmer's story was really the core of the series. As far as I'm concerned, FWWM was a brilliant and realistic ( yes, I said realistic) portrayal of severe child abuse (years ago, when the series was on the air, my older brother was a counselor for a man who was abused by his father as a child, and created a seperate identity for the"abusive" Father, and didn't realize that his real father and he were one and the same till he was 16...so it DOES HAPPEN) Anyway, I think the series ended on such an obvious cliffhanger "TUNE IN NEXT WEEK" fashion...we fans deserved better after supporting it when everyone else moved on to Family Matters or something.I think the movie should simply pick up ten years later. My Synopsis: Ten years after the murder of Laura Palmer (and subsequent strange events) the town of Twin Peaks returns to normal, as if nothing ever happened. No one speaks much of the events of 10 years ago, as if they never happened...the towns dirty little secret.However, when a series of mysterious murders begin to occur, Sherriff Harry Truman calls in the FBI once more, Special Agent Audrey Horne returns to a home town she has not seen in almost ten years.Equelly baffled by this series of murders, she enlists the help of local recluse and retired FBI Agent (and first love) Dale Cooper...who has to face not only the bizarre new crimes, but the darkness in himself (BOB) okay..it's pretty vauge,but that's what I wanna see! You can easily say goodbye to much of the cast...explain who lived and who didn't in the last ep..maybe a brief "where are they now"...but I'd have a mostly new cast.Oh, and where I think David Lynch needs to be involved...I don't think he needs to direct it..some of the best series eps were NOT directed by him..I think he only directed 5 or so.SO it is possible...we'll see what happens. I was really thrilled reading about the news. I read that some people were bummed because Jack Nance died, well... I'm pretty sure Pete Martell did too in that well, you know, exlposion. Of course the death of Silva is a downer, but then again, watching FWWM, I was absolutely sure Donna was still Lara Flinn Boyle. Now, TP left us abruptly, with ABC canceling it, so it would be a great way to see what's next: maybe how Coop escaped the Lodge, waht happens with him and Bob and how life goes on in Twin Peaks. But to learn all the answers: Is Ben Horn dead? What's happening with Nadine, Hank and Norma. How's Annie? How's Annie?! Well, to be told all these answers has to be done with something only Frost can give us. Let's hope he's on board and make this a screwd up, freaky masterpiece.

ALl right, look, TP is the greatest television show ever to grace the air. FWWM, I am not fond of, but I still feel is a brilliant and powerful piece of work (even in its emaciated theatrical cut). I have hoped and believed that sooner or later there would be another foray into the TP universe. at the time FWWM came out lynch said it was absolutely his intention to do so. it was only FWWM's lacklustre (US) box office that silenced the possibility and forced lynch to declare "closure". and for a while TP was a joke at best, a punchline, bashed on. but everythign turns. the generationt hat first lved tp is grown up and a new generation is discovering it. remember star trek? same thing tho obviously on a smaller scale. the fact is nothignthat had the impact of TP--its long term influence is felt on every x files episode, just for one instnat example--is never ALL dead. only mostly dead. I hope this rumour is true, but even if it isn't--SOMEDAY it will be. besides which, if duchony, graham, and a few others who became stars later were lured back--it would proabbly be very bankable, whether or not people knew the series. as far as the story--yeah it would have to deal with the loss of at least 4 cast members (silva, nance, and also hank worden who played the tall old bellhop, and the mayor, john boylan). but these are not insurmountable. moreover the nature of the lodge means that it really could be ten years later or whatevr. the events of (most of) fwwm and the series occur over less than two months--february/march 1989. cooper is supposed to be in the red room for 25 years. if lynch DID revisit the universe it's obvious it would the same, but different, you know? he would be less concerned about answering every stray plot thread than about making something he thought was interesting and artisticaly valid. it might contain minor apocrypha (as does FWWM) but so what? it woudl be lynch and peaks and that's good enough for me. hopefully the impending dvd release and recent bravo rebroadcast are th first steps to its return. god knows with BABYLON 5 gone and xfiles going, and a wait for new STAR WARS LOTR and others....we need some quality. there that's all i can say. i'm goign to have some blackjack gum.

I was in 6th grade when Twin peaks premiered. I must have been a smart little fellow because I got the show form day one. It still is to this day by favorite show of all time. No other show has even come close. I still watch Peaks on a regular basis because my mom taped them back in the day and I now proudly own them. When FWWM came out I wasn't happy but I was just a young buckk back then and now as I have amtured i worship that film. Scared the living shit out of me.This needs to happen. I stilll have nightamres about BOb. That is how powerful this show is. Please. Let's contact members of the entertainment industry that were also fans of the show. I know Kevin Smith was a big fan. Let's get a hold of him and try to get him to use his pull. ANy other ideas. Anyhting we can do to get this project off the ground is needed. We need our Peaks. I still remember my mom sending owl postcards to Bob Iger(head of ABC) every single day when we still thought it possible to keep peaks on the air. ALL I AM SAYING IS GIVE PEAKS A CHANCE>

I think they should do a new Twin Peaks movie, but only if they explain in the course of it WHAT THE HELL IT'S ABOUT. Geez, I can understand being obsessive about old TV shows and movies (I, for one, am still hoping for more "Buckaroo Banzai"), but for goodness' sake, the damn show was a piece of incoherent crap. I'd go see "Quantum Leap: The Movie" before this.

Since there seem to be so many Lynch-savvy kids kicking around here, I thought I'd ask you all if anyone knows the name/artist of a track from a lynch movie that I've been trying to track down for, you know, years. More specifically, I'm asking about any information on the song that plays in Lost Highway whilst Pete and Alice are getting it on in the headlights of the car in the desert. It's not on the soundtrack, and I haven't had any luck finding anything out about it.. anywhere. And god knows I've looked. (Although I think it was recently used in some makeup commercial. Much to my disgust.) Can anyone help me with this? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot. (letthenightcome@hotmail.com) And once more for the record, let's make this movie work..? :)

ummmm a few months later, but i only just saw the message, and no doubt you'll never check it or already now the answer by now, but the song in question is "song to the siren", done by a british "supergroup" type thing called this mortal coil.... it is actually a tim buckley song, but they do a stunnign version of it...the singer is elizabth fraser from the cocteau twins...cheers
