Guy Ritchie claims to have never seen "Pulp Fiction" (which in my opinion is a straight out lie.)And he is the father of Madonna's new baby. Wow, he's a liar and totally f-cked up, how sad.
Guy Ritchie was lucky enough to explore Madonna's Snatch!! He's

I don't think he's overrated. Most realise that he is substantially influenced from a slew of other directors but he does add his own touch to the work, plus Lock Stock was very entertaining and he does suggest an amount of potential to direct other pieces in the future. When Lock Stock came out there was a great deal of Hype but that has since died down, this second film seems to be a safe bet, similar themes, similar environment but again it will be entertaining and with signiture touches from Ritchie such as Camera movement and colours. I think the difficult third film will be the most important but until then we should enjoy another excellant film from a more than capable director, I can't wait to see it, the trailer was excellant.

You know, the previous poster who said that Guy Ritchie took things from other directors but then added his own special something was correct; sadly, the special something he added was a lousy script. I watched LSa2SB hoping to be blown away, and all I came away with afterwards was annoyance and boredom. This really was just a Tarantino ripoff, sans witty script, sans interesting characters, sans...well...everything (with the possible exception of decent camera work...in this department, Ritchie exhibits a level of competence). I was hoping that with Snatch Ritchie would address the pacing problems and poor writing that hampered his first feature, but now that I'm hearing Snatch described as "LSa2SB meets Fight Club", my hopes are pretty much dashed. Add to that the annoyingly smug and self-congratulatory trailer, and it looks to me like this movie is a prime candidate to skip. I previously wrote up some other thoughts on Snatch, and they're posted at http://previewreviews.com (aka Your Hollywood Bomb Shelter). Now that I've heard more, I see no need to reverse my previous assessment. Ritchie seems to be in love with his own directoral "voice", and as long as that's the case, he'll never hear the flaws in what he's actually "saying".

I agree with Boothryod, there is such a thing as a caper gangster movie before fucking Pulp Ficton. This is following a fine British tradition i.e Get Carter/Italian Job/The Ladykillers/The Lavander Hill Mob and so on. (Is the "Cant" a referance to Gangster No.1 by any chance?) As for "The Hard Case", I've seen it and it kicks arse although it's basically just a cheap Lock Stock for a half hour. It is better than the TV show anyway. I saw the Snatch trailer at the cinema the other day and while it looks kinda the same as Lock Stock, that's no bad thing in my book
The accent on Pitt

After 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, and Meet Joe Black I've come to the conclusion that B. Pitt is by far one of the THE most underrated actors of his generation. And after The Devil's Own, I've learned not to underestimate him. If his British accent is as damn good as his Irish one was in Devil's Own, the sky's the limit for this guy. I am glad to hear that this new role is not like Tyler Durden otherwise he'd just be repeating himself.
What the bloody hell is a British accent?

Number 1. Brad Pitt is a highly underrated actor, however his accent in the Devils Own was attrocious. Number 2. There is no such thing as a British accent. Don't start throwing the English in with the Sweaties or even worse the Taffs. Oh and don't even get me started on regional dialects. British accent indeed, that's like saying all Yanks are badly dressed and plagued with obesity and stupidity.

Guy Ritchie had a smart screenplay in which everything actually came together in the end and was constantly twisting. Not to mention, the style of the film had all the energy that the screenplay and the story had. The reason I say you're all fucked up is because... Tarantino does nothing but rips off of other filmmakers. The only thing he has any talent for is the snappy dialogue. But that's not enough to make a movie great. There's nothing original about his style of filmmaking. Guy Ritchie's style is original and there's no trace of PULP FICTION in LOCK, STOCK... Know your shit before you call someone a copier of a copier.

Sorry, Guvnor, but according to my many Irish friends, Pitt nailed the Irish accent perfectly. I'll take their word for it and not an Englishman's.

Just because Pitt's Irish accent was better than Tom Cruise's in Far and Away doesn't mean he nailed it. And I'm half Irish so take my word for it.

As someone who is actually from Belfast I can honestly say that Brad Pitt's accent in The Devil's Own was one of the worst ever. Ever-ever-ever. He sounded like a retarded Spaniard. Oh and for the record, his accent in the new movie is not English. He is a gypsy, possibly even an Irish one again judging from the trailer. --Springer--

yep, they sure must be. thats the only reason some of them are having such ago at LS&2SB and mr guy ritchie. name another american movie that has characters that are more memorable, a movie that blends humour and violence so well and that has such an intricate plot. I guess the closest thing america has that comes close to it, is indeed.....pulp fiction, but my opinion is this, its no where even close to how good LS&2SB. and though pulp fiction and LS&2SB seem pretty similar, LS&2SB is no clone of pulp fiction. you have to be a complete idiot who knows nothing of movies to make that statement. The americans can never get that "coolness" that is usually linked to english movies. Well this is my own fucken opinion anyhow. Oh a final note the americans have put out many brilliant movies like the usual suspects, gladiator, seven, the star wars serious (yes all 4 of them) and american beauty was brilliant (oooops wasn't it directed by an english guy.)
