I'm glad someone else is pissed that Colleen got the boot. Sean sucks, and not only was Colleen the cutest, but her narratives about what is going on were always interesting each episode. Now with Gervase and her gone, come on Rudy!

This is one of the worst shows I think I have ever seen, ever. And I do not joke about this. The acting makes "sub-par" sound like a dream, the writing is surpassed by the back of a cheetos bag and the less said about the effects the better. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. It would be so NICE if no one watched this show and Sci-Fi could fill the slot with something designed to fail. For god's sake this is on the same channel as Farscape?? Blasphemy.

I enjoy weird. I love weird. Lexx is not just weird, it is also very very bad. It seems to be aiming for "so bad it's good" but because the producers really are incompetent it ends up being one of the most painful, unwatchable experiences you could imagine. Characters bursting into very bad songs at random...every vaguely mildly witty comment being repeated ad nauseum...an overarcing plot that makes no sense and turns out to be completely pointless and a complete waste at the end of the fourth movie...not to mention dredging up B-movie stars like Tim Curry and Malcolm McDowell and humiliating them...no, you'll thank me if you avoid it. The only reason I watched the first 4 movies is because I thought they were going somewhere, but no.

Living far, far away from the good old U S of A these days, I have no idea who "Colleen" is, but good luck to her anyway. I LOVE the Lexx movies and - with the departure of Eva H. - still enjoyed the following year's series. It's just my kind of quirky, dark, and original (as far as I know) Science Fiction. But I know it won't be to most people's taste. However, the most recent series is AWFUL, unoriginal, and looks to have saved money both on production & effects and on screenwriters! I wouldn't bother with it. I hope this was the end of the line. Too bad, because I do like the central characters, especially Stan.

I'll be the first to admit that much of the acting, the storylines and plots, and the special effects on Lexx are decidedly below average. None-the-less, I find something about the show compelling. It's silly, sexy and strange and never takes itself too seriously (Voyager, anyone). And, above all, no one can say they've ever seen anything like it on TV before! I watch for little gems that the show occasionally drops in the form of humor, story, visuals, and bizarre sexiness. Conceptually, the show is quite solid ... it's just the execution that is often lacking. Oh, and as for the singing, as far as I know that's only cropped up in the first two movies (I've taped, but not yet watched the last two) and one episode, and they were quite appropriate for the story, if sometimes painful to listen to. Actually, I found the battle song of the Brunnen G to be quite stirring. And, most the CG work is really pretty good, even if the traditional SFX pretty much suxx. Sure, it's no Star Trek, B5, or Farscape, but (and I know that most will disagree with me on this) it's better than Battlestar Galactica and Lost in Space (both the series and the recent film). One more thing, neither Tim Curry nor Malcolm McDowell are strictly B-movie actors! I'm not sure about McDowell, but Curry is an accomplished stage actor, and the closest he's come (that I know of) to a B movie is Rocky Horror (unless you include Legend, which I emphatically do not), and that doesn't qualify because Curry was reprising a role that he originated on the stage. Hmmm, I seem to have started to stray off-topic ... anyway, if you haven't seen any of Lexx, give it a few episodes before deciding. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it may be yours.

GOOD LUCK COLLEEN, hope we get to see you in space. :^) Also count this one as another Rudy vote...that guys comments are probably the most entertaining part of the show.

HEYY KIDDIEES!!! HELLKNIGHT here with a quick and passionate defense of a show that has captured my heart with a mere 2 episodes!! LEXX is certainly bizzare, surreal, and on occassion, a bit wacky. However, I was snagged by the 2 most recent episodes, "Brigadoom" and "Brizon", and am now hooked!! This show is the sort of pure science-fiction/fantasy that I grew up reading in my youth, by writers such as Brian Aldiss and Ann McCaffery. This is what Science-Fiction is supposed to be like: massive oppressive galactic empires, unlikely heroes, characters that are quirky and interesting. Today's audiences are so numbed by crap like "Voyager" and "Invisible Man", they actually have come to see these as sci-fi, but face it: overwrought melodrama by resentful actors on a crummy-looking flying ladle of a spaceship as part of a used and abused, tired franchise is just not REAL science-fiction. The show may not be for all viewers, but the again, really GOOD, different shows usually are not: I use "Twin Peaks" and "American Gothic" as just 2 examples... I'll take the show few people appreciate over some customized to the masses crowd-pleaser any day! Please note: I am well aware there is plenty of sub-generes in sci-fi, but this kind of stuff is what started it, and is it so bad if it doesn't wallow in self-importance and seriousness like "Voyager"? Hellknight says; "Later"! P>S:KAI ROCKS!!

Attention all people with their own minds: Do NOT let these no-imagination motherfuckers sour you on one of the only real funny sci-fi series ever. Lexx is creative, satirical, unpredictable, sexy, and actually has a good story arc under the parody and humor. I sincerely regret not seeing the movies when they originally aired in Canada, and once the Sci-Fi channel started showing them, I was hooked from episode number one. Humor is a very rare element in most sci-fi, and Lexx has it all.

Ok, so that's an old line. I have to say that I never thought that I would become addicted to Survivor. I pretty much hate the shows CBS tries to pawn off as "hip" (with the exception of Everybody Loves Raymond). But I started at the beginning and now I can't stop. I think that of all the people on the island, Colleen deserved to win. I mean, when she left her last words were "Play nice, be fair". Sure that may not be the spirit of things, but it shows you who is a real person and who is just a conniving bitch (Richard, Sue, Kelly, I'm looking at you guys). When Richard did his little victory dance last week when he won immunity, I almost shot the tv. He just pisses me off, every week, no fail. Sue who is a lot smarter than I gave her credit for is also a lot meaner than I gave her credit for. I guess out of everyone who's left, I hope it's Rudy. He has seemed to calm down a lot as time went on and he is the least offensive of those left. Sean is just a putz who should have gotten kicked off a long time ago. But I keep wondering, what will happen if it's between Richard and Susan? They have each made enemies. But if that does happen, I'm putting my money on Susan. NO ONE wants to see Richard walk away from this thing a winner.

It's probably better for Colleen that she was outed from the island on "Survivor" because it looks like all hell is breaking loose next week. Or maybe it's breaking loose because the one person who had an ounce of dignity and fairness in them is now gone. (Sean is too wishy-washy to be called fair or dignified.) I'm hoping Rudy gets it because he's been one of the more honest players, but I remember hearing something about that being spoiled on here and that he doesn't get it. I just don't want Rich or Susan to win, thank you. (And Darth Siskel, I noticed that, too. I guess I'll have to stop watching Access Hollywood or someone will have to inform them that their show is shown BEFORE "Survivor" in many timezones.)

...So which is it? If you're expecting Oscar-caliber acting from *any* sci-fi series, you've already shot yourself in the foot. How good, really, was the acting on the Original Star Trek, or Doctor Who, or the entire run of Babylon 5? Answer: It sucked and you all know it. But it didn't matter, because the power, fun and sheer creativity of the story carried the day. LEXX carries on the proud tradition of shlocky acting in sci-fi, and adds sex, comedy and a not-too-bad story arc. Praise the Lord and pass the love slave.

Personally, i think LEXX is crazy, creative, and really, really funny, but I'm asking because your post is very puzzling... (1) It's OK that Red Dwarf is crap, it's still fun, but it's bad that Doctor Who is crap? (2) And exactly what bad element of Max Headroom, that visionary TV series (which I mean without any sarcasm) is ruining Lexx for you? (3) And if the Hitchhikers movie was "shitty", which I gather is worse than "sucks", than why did you like it? If I'm reading your post right, Lexx combines elements of many sci-fi shows that are loved by many (not neccesarily you, though) and yet you think it sucks. Please to explain. This message has been brought to you by the Committee for Logic in Talkback. Peace.

Lexx... quality varied
by Shrubbs

There have been three seasons of Lexx, and the quality of the show has varied greatly. Season 1 was the original series of four movies, which for syndication were later broken up into 8 1 hour episodes. It ROCKED. Season 2 is what has been referred to as 'the series' here on talkback. It had promise, but didn't live up to the original. It just didn't work as well. There were moments, but they were few and far between. It really took a downturn when they switched from Xev to Zev. Now Season 3, I don't think that's been broadcast outside of Canada yet, but it's definitly better than Season 2! The overlying story arc for this season is just more... interesting, and coherent. The entire season is much more serialized, each episode picks up where the previous episode left off. I urge anyone who enjoyed Season 1 but was disappointed with Season 2, give Season 3 a chance when it pops up in your area. I think you'll be pleased.

GOD DAMN IT ALL TO HELL! Now I want them ALL to loose for just THINKING about voting Colleen off! DAMMIT! Ok, LEXX. The first episode I ever saw was where they find the sattalite of love (not the MST3k one). I knew nothing about the characters, so here's my internal monologue: An old guy an a babe are in a spaceship trying to get laid, ok I'm interested (sick bastard!). WTF, a disemodied robot head!? Wierd sh*t. Huh? There are more people on the ship? I'm intrigued. It's a vampire or something? Now he's killing everyone? Sweet! Ok, I thought it was the weirdest show ever. But you know what? That's what brought me back. It's writers should be lined up and SHOT. Piles of sh*t have acted better. People break into horrible songs at completely random moments! THIS IS WHY I LOVE IT!! It's like watching Rocky Horror, but where the ship repeats your commands litteraly (yes Stan, supreme god of the universe swooping down form on high to protect the innocent...). Lexx is the cult classic of our time. btw, season 2 was better then 1 BECAUSE it sucked so much. But I miss Eva, she would have been great in the all-musical episode. :( Later, Joxer's Goofy Ghost

The Lexx movies were actually pretty great science fiction. . . particularly the first (I Worship His Shadow). . . but the TV show is pretty awful. Admittedly, the writers had a problem since every single plotline from the movies was resolved by the end of Gigashadow (the last of the "Tales From a Parallel Universe" movies) but I still have had a very difficult time sitting through an episode and find myself relieved when it turns out to be one of the "musical" episodes. . . Anyway it's a shame, since Xenia Seeberg is actually a very wonderful Lee Strasberg trained actress (and quite a nice young woman) who seems to have been handed the part of Xev well after the best writers have left the series . . .

...I'll concede. If you like Ed Wood, kitsch crap, if you revel in it, then yes, Lexx may be your thing. Comparing Lexx to Twin Peaks? Sorry, no. That's a huge slap in the face to TP. Just because both series are odd doesn't mean that any weird crap that a team of apperantly retarded 13-year-olds who are aiming to make a really bad kitschy TV series can slap together is equal to the wittiness of Twin Peaks. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a much better comparison, only RHPS is worth watching for the very good songs. With Lexx they not only have elements that are intentionally bad but a profound lack of storytelling skill, so that it's excruciating. Maybe ALL the bad stuff is intentional, but they've still produced something that's unwatchable, not hilariously campy or goofy. It's certainly not funny. Now, I've only seen the movies, and they suffered because they dragged miniscule plots out for two hours. Maybe the weekly series is better. Who knows.

Hey! As my name suggests, I just about like any sci-fi television and movies Regurgitate out. If it is sci-fi based, I will give it a try no matter what I hear, or how bad it looks. After watching a season of Lexx, I can honestly say it ranks right up there with CBS's Space Rangers from a few years back as the worst sci-fi ever. It is nothing but a spank-fest for horny teen geeks who can't get it any other way. They should get the world's record for gathering the most terrible actors in one spot for any given episode. The only reason I ever watch even a minute of it is if I don't turn the channel quick enough after Farscape is over. Kai was the only cool thing on the show until they gave him a musical episode. I think I will just continue to spend the hour between Farscape and Invisible Man on Fridays doing my laundry and cleaning out the cat's litter box.

As usual, you always have some fuck who doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. LEXX is great Science Fiction that pushes the boundries of Sci Fi. The acting is great and the robot 790 is one of the funniest creations in a long time. The series has not been perfect, plus it didn't help by showing the 2nd season out of order either. The musical episode was both compelling and well sung by both actors of the series. The third season promises to be even better! I truly love this series. It's one those bright spots on the Sci-Fi channel. Finally, people who don't understand, just never got it or gave it the chance. Some who say they hated it, but watched it for awhile are even bigger morons. Why watch something you don't even like???

Lexx is the best science fiction show ever created . It has imagination on a par with Olaf Stapledon. It should be nominated for a Hugo award. It should win a Hugo award. It should win a ton of Hugo awards. Be sure to watch season 3 which I believe starts this Friday. If you don't agree with me write a message telling me how crazy I am and I'll be sure to ignore it.

I've only recently started really getting into it, but there's some fine stuff here. It has a cool, dark, nihlistic sense of humor, but the characters are believable and likable as well (Brian Downey is particularly impressive as Stanley.) 790's antics could be toned down a notch, I guess, but it's no big whoop. Some of their storylines and ideas have been highly inventive ("Eating Pattern" and episode 2.17 [I think] being good examples.) It's a neat little show.

To be honest, I have not yet seen LEXX, it's on at an inconvenient time and I keep forgetting to set the VCR. Still, I like any show that pushes the boundaries of creativity and is unconventional, and I'm hoping LEXX fits the bill. If it's anything like Aeon Flux I'll be happy. Speaking of desirable females, I'd like to bid a fond farewell to my favorite Survivor contestant, Colleen. I was a fan of hers from the beginning, and was initially surprised that she became so popular. Upon further reflection, it seems obvious that she would become the people's choice. She displayed a wonderful sense of irony, sparks of brilliance, wit, charm, and creativity. She's pretty, but not too pretty. She had the leg infection and for that we're sympathetic. I'm actually rather glad she turned Playboy down-it only confirms that she's morally grounded. In short, she's everything you could ask for. Here's hoping the rumors are true and she winds up on that Destination Mir show. One can only hope.

Maybe Colleen from Survivor is an idealist, as has been suggested. If she is, it's a quality that would make her as endearing to some as it appears to be repellent to another. Though it's a position that has fallen out of fashion nowadays, sometimes idealism can be a good thing. I think that folks like Ralph Nader, Noam Chomskey, and Jello Biafra might agree with this(ironically, I don't think those guys would be fans of "Survivor", but I could be wrong.) Anyway, I think I may be reading way too much into what amounts to a simple game show and game show contestant, but I'm bored, so I felt like a little pop philosophy.
