From the way it looks, Stallone has two career choices at this point: (1)Fire his agent, manager, assistants, secretaries, phone answerers, and anyone else who might have been "helping" him in his acting profession lately, and take one last stab at a comeback, or (2)throw in the towel and be done with it. Infomercials are starting to look good for you now, Sly.

From everything I've heard, this movie looks like a stinker--at least in terms of character development and stuff like that. But you know, maybe the picture is salvagible. Maybe Universal could sell it as a slasher movie and let people not expect anything more. It sounds like it could be a fun stupid scary movie--but if they try to press it as an intelligent, Seven-ish thriller, it might as well just go straight to debut on UPN

Never seen such a devoted fan to Stallone and Schwarzenegger. I mean I like both guys because they have done seem decent movies, but its okay to admit when they make the bad ones as well. Anyways has there been a trailer yet for this movie, if not when can we expect it because I'm curious to see what it looks like. As far as watching it, well I might. I usually watch movies because I want to and pass my own judgement.

I can't believe they had another screening so quick. For those who saw it, do you know what was different about DETOX/THE OUTPOST this time? I know Brian Grazer and Universal are going to keep testing this movie to audiences until they get it right, even if the movie ends up costing close to 100 million. I agree with the person that said they can sell the movie as just pure entertainment because even in all the bad reviews, people say some things about the movie is cartoony and so is the violence. I still have hope that this movie will be entertaining once March roles around. Remember, something doesn't have to be original (it's nice if you can be) in Hollyowood to be a BLOCKBUSTER. Just entertaining. At least everyone always says Sly gives a great performance.

Man, that ABKing is one dedicated motherfucker. I gotta say, I'd take that dude to war with me if it involved that kind of support. I 'm sad to finally admit it, but this movie looks b-a-d. Sly - remember CopLand? 'member? Keep it in mind, and shoot your manager. Seriously. And if it's your fault, not his. . . well, get ready for Rambo 9.

Just wondering will you ever admit that Schwarzenegger or Stallone has made at least one bad movie? How long have you been a fan of these guys, and why? How old are you? And given the chance would you cast Stallone as Batman and Arnold as Superman? I ask that because you praise these guys so much, and I am really curious why that is. I mean I'm a fan of Nicolas Cage and Clint Eastwood, but I'll admit they've made a couple of bad movies, and I'll admit they are not right for every role they are rumored for.

Hey, let's not start an ABKing offensive here. Man's got a right to his opinion, besides - Superman#1? Nicholas Cage? When's the last time he did a good movie? But hey, what do I know. We all, I suspect, have actors who we will watch in anything, with a sense of hopefulness. For him it's Stallone, for Supe #1 it's cage and nicholson, for me it's Norton, Pacino, and (guilty pleasure) Kurt Russell. I've seen all of 'em, and man has Kurt Russell been in some SHIT. But I love the guy. So let's not get ugly over silly crap like this.

i mean, i'll watch anything with christopher walken (and he's done some REAL shit - ever see 'scam'?), james spader (i've been a fan since the fucking magnificent 'tuff turf' - don't laugh - but even i'm not hopeful about 'supernova') and bill murray (he never lets me down, even when the film itself is less than quality). but ABking just pops up whenever the words 'sly' or 'ah-nuld' are mentioned and asks the same questions again and again. when's it coming out? what changes have been made? it can still be good! SLY RULES! AH-NULD RULES!!! it's kinda funny, if you ask me.

Well the questions I was asking ABking wasn't in a bad way, because I was just kind of curious. I mean yeah I love Cage (I never mentioned Nicholson), but obviously I wouldn't cast him as Superman, I'd actually pick Guy Pearce. I agree everyone has a certain actor/actress that they're fans of, but I was just asking ABking these questions just out of curiousity. I didn't intend for the post to sound harsh because it wasn't my intention.
ABking hear: Stallone and Schwarzenegger's films

I know I said this months ago, but here are some Stallone movies I think either SUCK or are just watchable: JUDGE DREDD, OVER THE TOP (SUCKED BIG TIME), STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT and RHINESTONE. I recently rented OSCAR and I think it is actually funny. Sly was funny and he gives a good perfomance. I never said I LOVED all of Stallone's movies. The movies that are Stallone classics of the 80's and early 90's are: the entire ROCKY and RAMBO series (of course), COBRA, TANGO & CASH, CLIFFHANGER, DEMOLITION MAN and THE SPECIALIST. COP LAND was a great try for Sly at doing drama and so was LOCK UP (a very underrated Sly film). DAYLIGHT and ASSASSINS are also good Sly action films but not as good as the ones I listed above. BURN HOLLYWOOD BURN was not a Sly film but I get a kick out of seeing Sly having fun with his image by being very egotistical in that movie. ANTZ was a good attempt at a family film (Sly doesn't make those). Now for Arnold Schwarzenegger. I have to admit, Arnold hasn't been his old self for a few years now. His last few films have been ok to SUCK SHIT. JINGLE ALL THE WAY was a good film for what it was, but it was a comedy so you can call it bad. BATMAN AND ROBIN (NOT an Arnold film) was SHIT, SHIT, SHIT. I dispise that film. JUNIOR is Arnold's worst film ever. Why he did that film is beyond me (well, he did pocket 15 million for it, which was the highest paycheck at that time). RAW DEAL is silly, but viewable. Arnold's last great action film was Chuck Russell's ERASER. Some people hate it that Arnold went back to 80's style fair with ERASER but who cares. It has a great score, Arnold killing over 40 people, a good action plot and Vannessa Williams. ERASER is one of Arnold's GREAT films. Arnold has made some of the GREATEST action films with: THE TERMINATOR, COMMANDO, PREDATOR, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMNT DAY, TOTAL RECALL, ERASER and TRUE LIES. These 7 films are what makes Arnold a great action star. He also made some other good films (not as good as those 7) with: CONAN, CONAN 2, THE RUNNING MAN, RED HEAT, TWINS and KINDERGATEN COP. McTiernan's LAST ACTION HERO was good for what it was, a spoof on his action hero image. END OF DAYS will shut up naysayers once and for all. Mark my words...

I have to agree with you 100% on those films you listed as Arnold's best especially both Terminator films which I think the 1st was a classic. Predator was great because we go to see Arnold use his mind as a strategist to take the Predator down. I think "Eraser" was a good film and don't see why people don't like it. "End of Days" is looking good too, but I'll wait and see, still I'll be there opening day. Stallone on the other hand was a little less successful then Arnold. I think his best films were the first 2 "Rocky" movies, 1st Rambo, and a few others. I have to admit I thought "Judge Dredd" was a fun movie, I know I'll get bashed for that but I'll admit it was fun. So I guess in a way I do agree with you on somethings. However as far as "I Am Legend" goes I think you need a dramatic actor to take this role like Mel Gibson, Nicolas Cage, or Val Kilmer. I could see all 3 of these actors take the role, but I'm not sure if Arnold can pull off that deep serious dramatic side unless he proves it in EOD.
Superman#1: Arnold's films and COMMANDO 2

Both TERMINATORS are amazing. PREDATOR is a masterpiece classic action/horror film. I love ERASER. It is a high octane action film with some of the best stunts ever put on film. Also great one-liners that only Arnold can deliver. END OF DAYS has been getting super great buzz and the new photos at cinescape are great. COMMANDO is also one of Arnold's best action films. It has humor and over the top action scenes (much like TRUE LIES). I want Arnold to actually make a COMMANDO 2. John Matrix was a kick ass killing machine and would do great in a well written sequel. Alyssa Milano is grown up and has a hot body. She would look good in part 2. What do you think of a COMMANDO 2?

Ever. Forget Die Hard. Forget Hunt for Red October. Forget Die Hard 3 (you're probably trying to). Forget all the other shit he killed his career with. This thing has been out for almost 14 years and it hasn't even begun to feel dated, while Die Hard felt dated several years ago. Seriously, watch Predator again. The atmosphere and style just still seems so modern somehow. I don't just mean the clothes, hair, excellent effects and what not, but even the story and pacing. Just very tight and modern. And more importantly, I've never seen an action flick with more sustained tension.. amazing. The score by Alan Silvestri contributes hugely to this of course - it's also a classic (a shame it isn't available on CD legitimately!). I'd go so far as to say that this is in the top 5 best action films of all time.

Guy Pierce as Superman?? I never thought of it, but I gotta admit, what a great fuckin' idea. Huh. Anyway, it is true. Predator is, for me, the BEST fucking McTiernan movie and the Best Ah-nuld movie. OK, Special Forces guys usually aren't built like pickup trucks, but I got psat that. I fucking love that movie. And ABKing, it's good to know you're not a blind fan. But I did think Eraser sucked balls. Hey, what can I say. The guns were cool, though. I have great faith in End of Days, though, but I agree that he is NOT the guy for I Am Legend. It's should eb someone who is the everyman, just a plain Joe who is trapped in a nightmare. Val Kilmer'd be good, and he'd redeem himself after that putrid piece of grabage he was just in with Sorvino. Uck.

MadBoy, I'm not a blind Arnold fan. He has great films and crap films, just like everyone. I have to agree with Wesley Snipes and MadBoy, PREDATOR is a masterpiece action film. The score is AMAZING, the action is SPECTACULAR and the story is WILD. I wish PREDATOR 2 never came out until now and with Arnold and McTiernan doing it. McTiernan did DIE HARD and PREDATOR super great. ERASER was a througback to old Arnold. To me, it is one KICK ASS action ride with some of the best stunts and action scenes ever put on film. END OF DAYS will most likely RULE. There is a 95% chance of greatness for EOD and 5% it could dissapoint. I don't even like saying "disappointing" with the buzz it is getting. So, what do you all think of the idea of a COMMANDO 2? I say bring back John Matrix.

Simply because it was a survival movie. It was a very intense movie, and it was a thriller basically. The atmosphere and mood was great, and I agree it was one of the best action movies ever. I liked the movie simply because it was about survival and using your mind on how to fight the unknown, and instincts as well. Very original movie, and I think it was one of Arnold's best.

Just a very zealous fan. Christ, I haven't seen Commando in probably 9 years. Bring it back? A sequel?? Ahhh, I can only back you up so far, ABKing. But yes, Predator rocked. I say what the hell - make an Aliens vs. Predator with Ah-nuld AND Sigorney. How fucking cool would that be? That'd fuckin' rock my world. And let either McTeirnen, Cameron or Besson direct it. It'd be the shit, I'm telling you.
About Dredd and Sly's future

SUPERMAN#1, JUDGE DREDD could have been a KICK ASS comicbook movie but it ultimatly was not. I wish it was never made so that they could make it in the new millennium. As far as Sly's future goes, I still have a feeling that DETOX/THE OUTPOST will turn out good. It has gotten 6 bad reviews (which mentioned good things about the movie) and 2 good ones. By the time next March roles around, that could all change. After that movie, Sly has GET CARTER and FORMULA ONE. Those are 3 movies I'm looking forward to.

Yeah "Judge Dredd" was a bad movie, but for some reason I kind of enjoyed it and thought it was a fun movie. I was about 15 when I saw this movie so it did have appeal. I had no prior knowledge of the comic until its release. Still it was fun. As for Sly's future, well I like the guy but I have a feeling his movie will turn out like "Fallen" in the sense of box-office. It has potential, but wasn't pulled off right. Yes they have some time to straighten out the movie, but I don't think they can do too much. At this point it may seem like an average or below avearge movie. Still I might go see it, I'd like to see the trailer and if it appeals me then I'll watch it because I have no idea what the feel and atmosphere is like. Now "End of Days" on the other hand has potential and looks good. I have more faith in EOD then "Detox/Outpost" because the trailer looked good, and it had a great feel and atmosphere. The concept doesn't seem to original but its getting my attention. I also like that movie poster where Arnold is just standing looking down at the ground. In a way it doesn't seem like a typical Arnold movie.

Universal and Detox/The Outpost
by ABking

SUPERMAN#1, if I hear that DETOX/THE OUTPOST has gotten much better with reshoots, edits etc...and the trailer looks good or great, then I know my faith in the movie was justified all along. I think Universal will cut out most of the parts that people considered boring and cut the movie to a faster pace. The first 15 minutes are said to be GREAT by everyone (even the bad reviews) so all they have to do is reshoot some scenes and cut some others. Even if Universal makes all the right moves and fixes the movie, I know the usual people will still not like it. The violence is said to be over-the-top with the killings. It could also add good shock value to the movie.

Play 'Shadow Warrior' and get a tribute to 'Eraser' when you pick up the rail gun. 'Eraser' is good fun; silly at times, but I enjoyed it. Hell, I own it! Great movie to show off your home theater as well (awesome sound, even on tape). 'Commando' is my favorite Arnold movie, but I wish I knew if the film-makers were playing it straight or not. 'Predator' is a good movie, (one of Jean Claude Van Damme's best:); a friend of mine and I always imitate Bill Duke's two finest moments: him going apeshit on the jungle with the minigun (the screaming part, not the shooting part), and the "gonna have me some fun" mental breakdown. There will never be an 'Aliens vs. Predator' movie, but at least the PC game is cool. No Arnold, though.
