Far from it. The only problem is that every masked hero since him has aped so many of his angles there is nothing new to bring to the character.

No matter what, audiences will look at him as a watered down Batman, despite the fact that he was first and he had a special car and sidekick before Batman ever did.

..but I don't want to see that guy in any movies either. I caught THE MASK on cable the other night, Diaz used to be sooo hot when she was younger. The older she gets the less the whole "I'm so goofy-just one of the guys" schtick works. And the best thing the original GREEN HORNET series ever had going for it was Bruce Lee, what is there to give a shit about in this, yet another, useless unoriginal Hollywood remake? Seth Rogan? Seth Rogen is a capitalist. He is just looking for properties to make him rich. He is not a true performer and does not care about the fans or about the properties he wishes to perform in. No one born in the 80's knows about the green hornet, so they would have no passion about bringing the green hornet to the screen. Rogen = CUNT!

Yeah, he's Chinese & I'm pretty sure Kato's a Japanese name, but so was Bruce Lee & Jet Li's about as close as you can get to a modern version of him.

There's no way Jaa could be Kato. He's great, but a Thai Kato? That's a stretch too far even for Hollywood & its generic Asians.

I thought she was great on Maher's show
by Ash Talon
Jul 8th, 2009
07:42:38 PM
I thought she and Maher had a good chemistry. I was actually surprised at how mature and smart she appeared to be. I found it very refreshing that she said not everyone has the drive to have children, and our society fawns over the very thought of parenthood. She's content with her social situation and is enjoying life.

Have all you yahoos forgot that she was in Being John Malkovich? She's a good actress that has been pigeonholed into broad comedy. She's trying to expand beyond that, and I'm looking forward to what she does next.

This project, on the other hand, has no appeal to me whatsoever. Who really cares about the Green Hornet? No one. It's got flop written all over it.

Didn't they already make this movie, except they titled it THE SPIRIT?!? No, seriously, I hope the whole thing is shot green-screen and CGI'd so it looks like comic book colors, then (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed here!), I hope they cast Eva Mendes and maybe those Disney brunette chicks as scantily-clad death babes, and maybe Martin Lawrence as "El Spooko", the Green Hornet's ruthless arch-nemesis whose only weakness is pork chops. And have a part where Lawrence's character shoves a golden plunger up Rogen's ass. You're welcome, Hollywood!

Diaz is not even 37 yet.

Say what you will though, if you ever got a chance to meet her, you'd cream your pants before saying hello. =)

And the thing about her ass.... She's never had much of one. She just knows how to shake it and display it. I think that she looked her hottest in Charlie's Angels 2. She was hot in the Mask, but she still kinda had this baby fat look to her - being 21yrs old and all.

As far as this movie goes, I think that 90% or more of the movie going audience won't have an idea who the hell the Green Hornet is. Really. I was born in 1974 and only vaguely remember the Bruce Lee Kato cameos from the 1960s Batman TV show.

The property is something like 70+ years old when you include the radio show. The average 18-35 moviegoer is just way too young to actually remember the Green Hornet.

Hollywood can pretty much do anything with the property at this point and only a hardcore few will care. It's not Superman we're talking about, whose presence in the public eye has been constant since the 1940s. Green Hornet is one of those things from a generation long ago, way before any of us here were born.

Personally, as comedies go, I'd actually like to see the Brown Hornet. (You 2 Fat Albert fans here will get that one. =) )

As for Rogen

Don't worry. Hollywood will suck his career dry and rape his soul just like they've done to Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, Tom Hanks, and just about every other "flavor of the month" comedian.

Let him enjoy his 15 minutes of fame. It's only a matter of time before nobody finds him funny and he resorts to drama and/or starts begging for change on the freeway.

Just joking. Get a thick skin. Don't take any crap from me.

It's not a bad piece of work, but it's not going to win any awards.

Acting? Uh uh. They've got to forget there's a camera on them.

Dialogue? Too mundane, as somebody else indicated. Half as much but twice as punchy.

Maybe some recutting would help. Yeah, I know you want that suggestion.

Make the hand-washing shorter and put more emphasis on Genevieve saying, "It's showtime," or whatever she says. Maybe tilt up for some contrast between blood going down the drain and her kissing her image.

When Neil is lying to his wife, a little more irony might be good. Cut in some bars and hookers from his POV during his phone chat.

The shot where Neil rolls out of the car needs more set-up, IMHO. Maybe a shot/reverse shot of the two of them in the car with some sudden realization hitting Neil just before the blade.

Just suggesting. Good luck. You'll be the next Cronenberg while the rest of us at this brain trust will still be yackbacking.

Chow plays Kato. The dude is perfect for the role. Since Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, I can't imagine anyone else playing him. Even Jaa. Especially if there is a comdedic element which it sounds like they're shooting for with Rogen as the Hornet.
She has the tits to play a young asian guy.

After this movie is made there will be a remake, reboot, or redone. The way this is sounding it is going to be a huge train wreck. I will pass.
She does have a mouth big enough for 5 cocks.

The Coke Cola Fun Facts page before the movies saying: Cameron Diaz was cast in The Mask without any acting experience.

Seriously, the reason she was so hot way back in THE MASK is that we didn't hear what an annoying sound her laugh is!
Epic tanking on the horizon.

straight action film...but obviously not w/Seth Rogen in the lead. If they want to make it an action-comedy, then Rogen should play Britt Reid's stoner nephew who accidentally stumbles upon his uncle's Green Hornet gear & w/Kato's help-played by Jackie Chan- he decides to give crime fighting a try for himself. Again not my preferred way, but w/this cast & a 1930s-era character, probably the only way to get asses in seats today.

This is like them ounting a ROCKY and BULLWINKLE reboot.I could care less. And when is GONDRY going to make another ETERNAL SUNSHINE-man, he showed SOOO much potential for making drams and odd lil movies.I cant see him making a studio film as stupid as this!
I have no problem with them casting a girl Kato, but...

...if they did, for the love of god, PLEASE cast an Asian woman! Hollywood really knows how to screw properties up....I know the headline was a joke, but it honestly wouldn't have surprised me if it were true.... If there was a girl Kato, though, what about Gianna Jun? In her U.S. film debut?
Not Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen!!

She has a frog face and sucks as an actress. I haven't seen one thing I've ever liked her in.
